The heat wave nearly DOUBLED my average July Bill.... .....$150 more than any previous month over the last 3 years......
Their readings say I used 4 TIMES my "baseline allocation"..... FOCKERS are quick learners of the consumer rip-off strategy (Exxon, Chevron, etc.)

Another possibility... if your meter is read by a person still vs. a remote read (called a turtle system), the meter reader will "estimate" the read for several months and then actually show up and read the meter... your bill will be through the roof. Â If your readings (kWh) are damn near the same for several months in a row followed by a big jump... you've got a lazy meter reader on your hands.
Don't know how big your AC is, but my 4.5ton unit used 1680 kWh last month... and it was over a hundred every day. |
Thanks "power man"...... I'll check things out....

Nope, the meter was spot on..... I called them today to BITCH as most of the area billings are $200-$300 above expectation....
Def. looking at a solar supplement at this point.... It ain't gonna improve down the road....

We are really fortunate here because our power is cheap compared to most others. Our a/c runs 24/7 all summer and the bill has never exceeded $130.

The hell with tapping the meter......I'm gonna take a 5 pound sledge hammer to the f'in thing.
I just got of the phone with Edison and they tell me that the reason my bill is high is due to the increase in rates. They increased it 37%......... I don't even charge that kind of percentage to my customers.
I guess I will be lighting candles for light in my house from now on...

I wonder what the 60,000 square foot stores in the inland areas with higher temperatures are paying? Â |
My highest last year was approx 390.00 in July, this one 690.00 Â . One large university in OC that we work with, $ 980,000.00 last MONTH, Yow! Cost of tuition is gonna be going up!
