Thinking of buying a used quad, does anyone know what kind of fees and stuff the robbers at the CA DMV charge? I looked on their site and can't figure it out. It said something about a transfer fee and a use tax?

Generally speaking its the same as any other vehiclular transfer but I can't say it with 100% conviction.
You'll pay use tax(aka sales tax) at the rate that is for your area(by zip) based on the sales price(or what is written on Bill of Sale). Transfers in cars is $18, so assume the same with the bike....license will depend on if its current or not. Thats the determination of if they charge you anything there.
What kinda quad are you looking at?

I will have a Polaris90 for sale...daughter rides the Banshee now  :jumpie
TRX400 is a nice quad for having fun....not a high performance unit but no slug either....

I know here in Oregon (Not that it helps you, right?), it's just a title transfer fee.  The EX400's are a great little ride.  Not a power house (Something to the tune of 21hp at the rear wheels  :puke ), but what they are, they're pretty nice.  I like them in the dirt 10x better than the sand.  The wheel spin just isn't there in the sand.

I've got a 2005 Yamaha Raptor 660 for sale, with high performance mods. Has less than 10 hrs. This thing screams. Pipe, jetted and all the goodies.

yes and yes...... and it is automatic , no shifting just hit the gas and go..  if you want to see it I live in costa mesa, by Brookhurst and Adams area......
