It's never a bad idea to have a security device, whether it's a prop or the whole boat. I don't have a Prop Lock, but mine only goes to where it can be stolen a couple of times a year,,,,,

I'm kinda in that scenario......my boat doesn't sit out where its at risk much at all. Beside the fact its such a common prop. I can see if its unique, counter rotating or super expensive surface drive unit...

It takes 5 minutes to pop the prop off how lazy can you get $600+ for a prop and who knows how much more to get it dialed in right and you leave it there for the taking, ought to just put a sign on it "Tricked out prop free for the taking" Not to mention all the shit on the road that can ruin it!..

I'd lock it, or remove it when traveling and parking overnight....

As already stated. Takes less than 5 minutes to remove it. Why spend the money on a prop lock if you dont have to.

Well I'm far from a pro on outdrives but if the prop ain't tight on the shaft wouldn't that contribute to vibration and wear on the prop and the shaft???..

Good question.... At Havi this week, my bro-in-law's Volvo outdrive would "wobble" when you first fire it up.....is that "normal"...

Nothin'....start it out of the water, nothin'..... It just kinda "wiggles" for a few seconds until you put it in gear.... Take it right back out of gear, no wiggles....

Maybe it's the motor not running right the first few seconds, that could cause it to shake!.
