Motor went BOOOM on the 4th pass, they lost the car. They were racing a guy with a Firebird. They had him well covered until the 3rd pass, that's when they injured the motor....

What happened with the motor, too much squeeze??? We burned all four right bank pistons a couple years back on a 648ci Pat Musi motor. We were running two stages at the time and found out the hard way that custom drilling of all the jets is a must :cry  :beat

I'm not too sure, but I think that it had something to do with the 408ci that they pushed out of a 351...... I'll talk to my brother and see if they tore it down yet........

Long story short Pat's tuning guy markes his custom drilled jets with #'s that resemble the OEM #'s and we gave the right side way too much squeeze and melted the pistons. Pat will not use off the shelf parts and says that he has seen a 20% difference in flow on their junk. He buys the blanks and custom drills each one. It was an expensive lesson :flamed

Yeah same with injector pills, all that number means is the hole size, it's the flow that matters two different brands with the same number will flow different, I learned that the hard way too!.. :(
