3 Touchdowns so far...... :good
John David Booty. The kid can play.

Looks like USC has a halfway decent team this year The game's far from over...

...according to the clock anyway. :D

I don't think it'll end up like the Oregon - Oklahoma game. Those Ducks sure did luck out! :p

Luck????  Pffft......whuteva!  There were both good and bad calls on both teams.  If it weren't fer them damn turnovers, we'd have run away w/ it!  You gotta hand it to the Ducks......They played a pretty awesome 4th Qtr!   :beer

Booty can play. It was not an easy choice  (according to the coaches) to start Leinart, over him, 2 years ago. SC has been loaded at QB for years now, with the likes of Palmer, Castle, Leinart, Booty, and Sanchez....  :good

I'm not discounting their playing......

The luck applies to the QB keeper with 1:12 left and the on-side kick by Bellotti that was called in their favor after a review and then a pass interference call against OK which set up the winning TD with 46 seconds left.......

You gotta admit, the chances of recovering an on-side kick are slim. The call could have gone either way...it was lucky for the Ducks it didn't.

And lucky that more time wasn't left on the clock.....it was a battle to the finish.

I understand that both the calls are being reviewed by the league. :stupid I don't know what they can do about it now.

One thing I noticed about the P I call, that the announcers seemed to miss, was that the defender whacked the reciever with his arm as the ball left the QB and before it appeared to be tipped. If the refs also noticed that, then the P I call would stand and the tipped ball would be moot. There is no doubt Oregon was lucky to get the call they needed on the field for the onside kick. Because, the replays were not good enough to overturn them either way, if anything the replays seemed to favor Oklahoma, but non of them were real good.

It is my understanding that all of the officiating officials and associated crew in the OKLAHOMA/OREGON game have been suspended one game each.    :laugh

Wow, I thought maybe they just have a meeting or something and tell them to pay better attention. :eek

Guess we won't be seeing any of those boys in a bowl game, huh? :p

Dropped calls are like dropped balls. They are part of the game. My grandmother put herself through The University of Oklahoma back in the late 20's and early 30's. She loved that school, therefore I tend to root for the Sooners, in her memory. However, I have to admit I kind of liked those calls, because they added some fun to the finish. Over the years I have grown to like college ball a lot more than the NFL, mostly because the teams stay put and they sort of represent something. Even though the NCAA totally sucks as an organization and it still clings to a bizzarre amature code, that was origionally created for the expressed purpose of keeping poor and working class people out of sports. I still can't help love the spirit and excitement that is unique to the college game....Bad calls? Perhaps, but I love it!! :jumpie

I just read the article on Fox Sports News...the officials DID blow the on-side kick call and that's why they were suspended. The league apologized to OK. :bowdown

The coach from OK wants the results cleared from the record and the officials suspeneded for the rest of the season! :eek

Oh well, like I said, dropped calls are like dropped balls. They are part of the game. :cool  As a person who likes Ok, I am dissapointed in this. It is bad form and poor sportsmanship. College coaches are not NFL coaches.  They are instructors in their schools atheletic depts. The coach at Ok should know enough about sports to know that the NCAA can't drop the results of the game. It was not and would not even have been the last play of the game (even if it was, they still don't do that). He is just posturing for his angry fans and setting a bad example for his and future players.  :drama The only time this sort of talk is called for (from a scholastic or youth coach) is if there is credible evidence that the refs were bribed and made the call deliberatly.
