So we're at the Fair last Sunday and take a gander at the Seven Crown Resorts Houseboat pricing and locales.  They offer Mead, Mojave, Shasta, and the Delta.  I'm thinking Temple Bar, if anything.

I've done them before, many years ago on both Havasu and Mojave, but it was just a guy trip.  The wife is all over it, but I'm of the opinion it is just way too much work (today).  I'd rather get a lakeside house with a dock, which will run about the same cost.

What say you...??  Is a houseboat worth the extra effort..??

That's a good question....Last 2 houseboat trips we just parked the mutha up in music canyon on Powell and had all the skiboats meet us there. I don't think we moved it twice in 8 days on the lake, but it was a hell of a lot more accessible than a beach house or hotel room......but that's Powell...... :good

I've never done it, but I would think a houseboat would be cool since you're not stuck in one place!.. :stupid

It is only a little bit of extra work the day you leave and the day you return...but you'd have to haul all your crap to a lake house, wouldn't ya?

We had two huge houseboats up on Shasta and it was fantastic.

We are planning a Powell trip for next summer. We may have 3 boats lined up by the time we are done. :good

I'd think certain lakes would be great to have the houseboat and others it wouldn't...
Powell is one I'd still like to do that at.....

I think the biggest issue with the narrows is towing. We usually have enough capable hands along that we wouldn't tow through there.

I'll be sure to copy you on the details when we start crunching numbers. I thought the Shasta trip was going to break the bank, but we started a little piggy bank in Jan. and it turned out quite well - including the long drive and one night stay in the Sac. Hilton each way. :good
