My 14 year old daughter Trina joined Cross country over the summer having never been in team sports or doing any running. Weds she qualified for CIF on the Varsity team as a freshman. I'm gonna miss the CIF meet but I sure am proud.
That kid is the bomb. She has honors classes with a great GPA, runs Crosscountry and attends/teaches Karate almost every night of the week. I think she might be a super hero.

Just wanted to share my excitement. :jumpie  :jumpie  :jumpie

Great Deal, Good job you guys. :good

Interesting but I have noticed a new popularity in cross country running here in Tucson, lots of the younger adults are taking it on.

She is an awesome kid.  If there is an injustice, or someone is acting like a shit, she is the first one to call a person on it (like her mom--big mouth  :rolleyes ). She is very driven and focused (like her dad  :fouet ). She is having so much fun in her psychology class, she thinks she wants to be a psychologist.   :grouphug We will see.

Here are some pics of Mt. SAC

I just realized her legs look really funky and lumpy in this pic  :laugh I wonder why?  :stupid

Yes.  They run a lot of hills on the home track, but she was unprepared for those switchbacks.  She said that she'd think she was near the top, but when she would get to the top of every rise, there was another one, and another one.

We bought her a pretty nice pair of running shoes in August and just had to buy her another pair.  The first ones are worn out.  Did you know that running shoes only last for 300-500 miles?  :stupid   At 3-5 miles a day, that's only 100 days.  :rolleyes

Yeah and it can be less than that depending on your weight, and you'd think they would last forever on a treadmill but they get thrashed out there too!.. :rolleyes
