My 16 yr old got his drivers license yesterday.... drove himself to school this morning, his first trip out solo. Freakin nerve racking until he texted his safe arrival  :drink

Been there done that, got one more to go.
My biggest harping was "DO NO, I repeat, DO NOT try to show off to your friends in the car, period." 99% of the time thats the cause of a dumb accident.
If you've been a good role model in your driving habits then kids often follow what they've observed in life.

My 17yr old boy has been driving for just a few months.  We've gone from being a nervous wreck to "oh, your home??"... :rotflmao  :good  :beer He knows the consequences..... :flamed

Now, if he'd just get a JOB to help with expenses.... :beat  :D

3 kids and 4 cars down.....2 to go. And I'm serious when I say I don't think I'll survive the last two. :(

The next one up to bat gets her permit in February. I wonder if they have internet connections in the looney bin. :stupid  If not, my dream of catching Art is going to go unfulfilled. :cry

I have one starting next year. But I let him drive the pickup out at the farm in the hay feilds, so he can't hit anything, PLUS by the time he go to learn he will have some understanding about how it handles, plus he has been in the rig with me and see the dumb thing people do.

I agree Zig..... showin off, and the distractions of having a bunch of kids in the car, are the reason why I have, for now, forbidden him to have passengers. I would like him to get some more experience before he starts playin schoolbus. With a 100,000 snowbirds flocking the streets of Yuma, traffic is crazy even for experienced drivers. :banghead

I know what your sayin, Shue. We have full coverage on our Pilot, Tacoma and the boat. Our premium nearly doubled when we added our son and liability ins for his car to our policy. :cry

My son even got the "good student" discount (3.85 GPA :good ) and credit for driver's education.

I am not a Gynecologist, but I'll take a look.
