:D  i made it in one piece....
after 2400 miles with boat in tow... (17,830lbs of total weight... on my 6,200lb truck)...  :eek
4 days on the road....  :cool
and the only problem i had... was the running lights on the trailer... still had brake lights, and wasnt driving at night.  :jumpie

so, all is well, wondering what is up with that  :cold  stuff...?
but it seems to be getting better.

anyway... if anyone knows anything fun to do in Lancaster Ca. PLEASE let me know... after Florida, i need some excitement...  or atleast a  :grouphug

High Desert for sure....
on my way to work last week, the outside temp showed 6*F
"single digit"... (at 4:15 in the AM)

damn glad i pulled the plugs on the boat!  :D

yep, Palmdale is a couple miles from the house.
i'm looking for some new "hangouts"...
lookin kinda grim at first, but the people are great.
so, i'm thinking things are gonna be OK.

Slow.... naaa... i stopped in Texas for Christmas with the folks... had 6 days of paid travel, and thats all i could drag it out...  :beat
got tired of wondering who was messin with my stuff while i was lounging around the hotels  :drink

80 mph speed limits across west Texas... it was great, and when the cummins got in the mountains, i had to back off the skinny pedal to keep from runnin people over.

nice drive all in all, and i know my rig is ready to hit Meade or Mojave, or the river... ready for some warmer weather.

I run up through Lancaster / Palmdale at least once a month on my way to California City, Jawbone and other dirt bike riding spots. :D

Not only does it get a bit nippy up there this time of year, but the wind sure can blow. :cold

That whole area sure has grown in the past 10 years or so....it's hard to tell where Lancaster starts and Palmdale ends :stupid

It's a fact of Life:

After Monday and Tuesday, even the Calendar says : WTF .......

Cale and Jen (The Lovinlifes) are great hosts. Castaic is about 40 min away from Lancaster (south on the 14 to the 5 north a few miles). Check out the thred on Hotboat (in Hot Spots West) and feel free to PM one of them (lovinlife or Mrs Lovinlife) for directions to the party. :beer
P.S. It also looks like some of us from the AV will be meeting up and hanging out at the L.A. Boat Show on feb 3rd. :cool
