FOCKERS... :pissed  :guns  :flamed

Bought gas last night at the usual spot, Circle K, and the usual way, WF Debit Card.  Within an hour, several attempts were made to get cash...$1000 Wal-Mart, $500 Macys, and a few others, in the San Marcos/Vista area with a duplicated card... :eek

WF Fraud Prevention rejected all transaction attempts and called late last night with a message.  Today, we walked through the account(s) activity via on-line access and phone dialogue.

New cards are being issued, but it's pretty scary that you can get hit that quick and cleaned out.  Time to keep just enough "cash" available in the checking account and give up the debit purchases, use the VISA/Discovery, or strictly use cash, where possible.  :beat

Thank you again, Wells Fargo...  :bowdown :good  :beer

Nope, no imprint...just the usual "feed" into the pump terminal... :eek  There was an attempt at Circle K at 9:30pm, which I rejected.  I was here jackin' on HD.... :laugh

Sounds like an "inside" job... :stupid

Nice, I don't think we have a wells fargo around me, but I use a paypal card for my gas and little shit, when I was driving to and from AZ they put a stop on my card in Ill. I had to call in to find out what was up, they wanted to know why all the sudden fuel stop's going west.

Yep...these days it's a good thing to notify the cardholder of planned "out of area" usage to avoid a cut-off.  You can also set a cap on the purchase size for your protection.... :good

I like that pre-paid card idea.... :cool
