Being that I have a little free time on my hands  :D

I took some old 8mm film and tried to get them into video...not the best, but they are archived.  I am considering having them professionally done, but that can be fairly expensive $$$... :rolleyes

Here's a clip from 1961, taken at Shaver Lake in CA, showing an old Beismeyer/Buick pulling 5 guys (on doubles) out of deep water.  Note the "ski rings"... :laugh

Deep Water Start

This one is from Ski-Land, outside of Perris, CA.  The guy is walking out into the water to retrieve a dropped ski.  Watch the boat w/skier launch BEHIND him... :eek

Ski-Land

Mostly outboards < 75hp back then... :D

Ski-Land was man-made....kinda like Buena Vista in Bakersfield is today.  It's still out there, serving as a settling pond for the Water District.  :cool

Got a few more to work on from the river....

Thats some real cool stuff!!   :good

I remember as a kid my folks had a friend with a flatbottom they would pull 5-6 people behind it.  A couple outings like that and log shaft bearings were shot.  :eek   :laugh

Dried up long ago... :eek   They did run boat drags out there in the mid/late '60's... :cool   It was re-worked some years ago and is now a settling pond for treated water.... :good

Looks like this today....same basic shape, without the middle islands...

I showed these to my Mom. She said that a group of them used to go there about the same time that these were made. She said it was really shallow.....
