Statement as of 5:48 PM MST on March 16, 2007

... Widespread record daytime high temperatures were established over
southwest and south-central Arizona and far southeast California on
March 16 2007...

Station new record high old record and year

Phoenix 99 95 in 1921
Yuma 99 97 in 1934
Blythe 99 93 in 2004
Parker 99 95 in 2004
Bouse 98 95 in 1934
Wickenburg 94 91 in 1972
Gila Bend 101 98 in 1934
Coolidge 99 93 in 1972
Casa Grande 100 96 in 1910

The high of 99 degrees at Phoenix was the hottest reading so early
in a calendar year... and the second hottest day ever recorded during
the month of March. The all-time record high temperature for March
remains 100 degrees... which was set on March 26 1988. Records have
been kept for Phoenix since 6 August 1895.

These data are preliminary... but highly reliable. The official data
may be accessed from the National climatic data center.

We are meeting some jetboaters at Martinez on Friday. If you need any help getting the boat ready let me know. Washing the truck and cleaning the pool are the only things on my to-do list for the weekend.

I think I'm staying in Pruitt at my buddies Park Model, as you're pulling in his backs up to the reserve area, second one in, you'll see my truck and boat, if you come out be sure and swing in and say hi, Irmanator will be with me as well. Would be great to meet you...
