OK, this is kinda spam, but there's a little story, too.
Last Sunday Shelley and I showed both the Roadster and the Mustang at my son's high school's car show. They had awards for the best of the different years, best interior, best paint, etc. I've gotten used to not winning anything with the roadster 'cuz T buckets are generally considered "starter" street rods and not taken seriously. I didn't build the Mustang as a show car, but my anal retentive nature took it beyond a normal street car, so it's somewhere in between.
Anyhow, at the end of the day, they announce the awards. I'll be the first to admit that I'd LIKE to win something, but I don't hold my breath. First category... best 1900-1929. Sure enough, someone else gets it..... no biggy, it went to a nice car. They announce the other categories, and get up to best 60's. Call the name, and it's not me. Oh well, it was still a nice day hanging out and checking out the other cars. They pull the names and numbers for the raffles and 50/50, and nothing there either. The money goes to a good cause, so it's all good. The last 2 prizes were the "Super" raffle prizes. The pull the first number for a built TH350 trans, and sure enough, my luck's holding out. (Whatever, I run fords and wouldn't have a use for a Chevy trans, anyhow). The last is the really big prize, and I turn to Shelley and tell her it's time to go load up the cars and leave. She says there's still one drawing left and to hang out... we might win (yah, right). So they announce the number and HOLY SHIT, they called our number! Here's the bittersweet part, though. It was for a set of Foose wheels. Problem is, I'm not a Dubs kinda guy, and they don't make wheels in the lug patterns I have. Here's the semi-spam part. If anyone is looking to upgrade to a set of Foose (or many of the other wheels MHT makes), let me know. I'm looking to buy a set of Halibrands for the Dodge and they will cost less than the limit on the certificate, so I may be able to get someone into those wheels cheaper.
Sorry for the long post......
