More Law Enforcement Coming To Lakes
ARIZONA - An increase in 2006 deaths and arrests on Arizona waterways is now going to result in an increase in law enforcement presence on the state's lakes, especially in dealing with alcohol consumption.
The Arizona Game and Fish Department is at the center of the new presence, pointing out there were 535 arrests for operating under the influence in 2006. That is nearly a 50% increase from 2005's total of 375 OUI arrests.
There were also 14 deaths on the water in 2006, which equals the record set in 1998. As the peak boating season approaches, law enforcement officials are increasing their presence on the water.
In addition to regular watercraft patrols, the expanded efforts include random checkpoints and the "Wolfpack" task force, a group of patrol boats that monitors the most popular boating areas.
Be careful out there...

| Quote (Havasu Doug @ April 03 2007,8:21 am) | It's sort of like Pacific Coast Highway. Â When it comes into Newport Beach from the north, it is technically named "West Coast Highway", then halfway through the city it's named "East Coast Highway". Â Continuing south after Newport Beach it's named "North Coast Highway", then "South Coast Highway". Â Pacific is nowhere in any of those names.
I think Ziggy can confirm this. |
If you view it on Yahoo maps they use the names interchangably....zoom in and it's Pacific Coast Hwy...zoom out a bit and it changes to N. Coast Hwy....farther south it changes to El Camino Real....and then Poof, it's gone!
Doesn't matter, I'm still lost!

Once PCH starts again in O'side its got the No./So. connotations, Carlsbad still calls it Carlsbad Blvd., Encinitas does the No./So. dealio and further south it may be similar. It disapears once it reaches UCSD. Not sure what they call it going thru Camp Pendleton or what its called there at San Onofre where they camp right on it.

The idiots are always the last to leave |
And always the ones who load their coolers, towels, rafts, beer bong, and food while the truck/boat is sitting on the ramp
