We just returned home today, Tuesday from the lake and river.  Upon arriving at Videl Junction we found inspectors outside and present for the firt time in months.  I asked them if they were inspecting boats for muscles?  And their reply was, we are inspecting every boat, inside and out.  I then asked what the time delay might be and they said from 5 to 15 minutes with the average being about 10 minutes.

I had several cars behind me when coming through Vidal today.  I did not ask them what the process was if muscles were found.  I did not see any wash down equiptment, but that does not mean that their might be some behind.

We will be going back this weekend and returning on Monday evening.  I will make a point to ask what they are doing if any are found, and make a post.

I've heard that they are placing contaminated boats in quarantine. :eek

There is a recommended time that a cleaned boat needs to sit before they are pretty sure the mussels are gone:

Imagine getting your boat snatched? :cry

Good information Glassman.  I know that many of you must have other good information about the muscle problem facing the Colorado River and Lakes.

A lot of people in our trailer park were addressing the problem daily.  But were not shure what to do.  I am now that others of you, will be going through other inspection station in California, within the next few days and can give even better updates than me.

We personally do not tow our boat, but many of you do and this could be a problem.  I know that I will ususlly pull my dairn plug and then put it back in and the gereral thought in our park is we should leave the plug out so the boat will dry totally.

Exactly...if you make sure the boat is DRY inside & out, and there's no hanging vegetation, you'll be fine... :cool

We all keep our boats pretty clean...it's those big cruisers from the East that sit in the water all their lives that are getting snatched... :beat  :guns
