From TSN On-Line today...
A multi-agency enforcement effort to combat those people operating watercraft under the influence will take place this weekend on Lake Mohave, the Colorado River and Lake Havasu. Boaters will not only be checked for alcohol impairment, but also required safety equipment, such as proper life jackets and working fire extinguishers.
May 4-5-6 and probably every week-end through Memorial.

I think that was a good video, And maybe everybody need to see that, They may understand that they need to get in there to help folks in need, I now have a better understanding of what is up, and needs to be done before I go there, You see most folks, just like me, would say why should I move for a cop, so he can go and F with somebody, but realy their there to help.
And yes that smoke was nasty, I have never seen that there, when I was there.

That's mostly PWC's and older stroke OB's, which have cleaned up their act over the years...

Although I'm sure the stepped up patrols won't change a whole lot (just read the newspaper after a big holiday to see how many people were arrested for DUI - Even after stating in the news where they will be running checkpoints) hopefully people will be a little more cautious out there. That video was a definatel wake up call for me to as far as what those guys go through to keep us safe out there.

Many of the USCG lake patrols are "volunteer" (Auxiliary) staffed, as I understand it...big PROPS to those peeps...
