With our economy so bad and recently being named one of the poorest areas in the US Northeastern Ohio gets another BIG hit. Today Ford Motor Company announced they will be closing the Cleveland Engine Plant 1 in 2 weeks and phaseing the Assembly Plant out by 2009. That is over 1800 people that will be loosing their jobs. Not to mention the jobs that will be lost in the "ripple effect" and the Tax money that will be lost. The schools are already stuggling financially and now they will take a big hit as well due to the loss of tax money. The future for Ohio really looks grim. Our previous Govenor ran Ohio into a pit and now it's gonna take a miracle for Ohio to recover. The manufacturing businesses that once boomed here are all but a memory. Very few still exsist.

Gas prices goin up....Taxes goin up....Cost of living going up....unemployment goiing to new heights...and our pay scale barely changes....WTF...

if it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all

The gov. said the other day, that it will take 30 years or more to change ohio around, and they would have to lower taxes to get folks to come back, But on the good side, they said there are some "SKILLED WORKERS" still left here, All I can say is AS a skilled worker, I'm just to stuipid to leave. I keep hoping it will change and get better, but it's not. But I look around and see alot of folks buying new cars and trucks, and home's that are so big, I could store my rig in them.
