"Sgt. Pepper" was recorded at the Abbey Road studio in London over more than 400 hours spanning 129 days, and was released on June 1, 1967.

In 1968, "Sgt. Pepper" was the first pop album to win the Grammy award for album of the year. It also won best contemporary album.

Rolling Stone magazine placed the album in the No. 1 slot on their list of the 500 best albums of all time. Within weeks of its release, Jimi Hendrix was performing the title track in concert.

:good

I was never crazy over Beatles music, liked it but wasn't ga-ga for it.

I love that album. :good

I liked the movie, too, even though I think Peter Frampton said he regretted doing it. The corny stuff in the movie is worth dealing with in order to see the performances. The guys in Aerosmith were young guys in those days. :D

I'm intrigued by all the "Paul is dead" rumors too.  It's interesting to hear how different people interpret every detail on every Beatles album.  Sgt Pepper's has MANY of these.  Some of them are that Billy Shears was a Paul double that took his place after Paul was killed in a car crash. :rolleyes

The Fab Four were one of the, if not the most, influential music makers of all time.  They changed the landscape forever... :cool

Sgt Pepper was an unbelieveable work....Abbey Road was actually better musically...IMO  :good

They have done quite a few cover songs.......I think that it was the Highway to hell album that they remade the whole thing.....
