Arg... I need a free firewall for the ancient OS on my home PC... Zonewhatever doesn't support ME anymore so I can't get their free firewall.

Any suggestions??  Art... oh guru of internet and v-drives???

Wow, you still have ME :eek that's been outdated for a long time and now it's just about flushed off the planet, I just read an article a couple of weeks ago about it and it said nothing supports ME anymore, so all you can do is search and hope to find some old software somewhere, you might try Warez if it's out there you'll find it!... I suggest you upgrade to XP at least!..

I would not use Vista yet, way too much issues with it maybe in another year or so when the bugs are worked out!.. See if you can put XP on it!.. :stupid

You can use a router so your "guests" have internet access when they visit you.  A router will have a built in firewall so you wouldn't need it on your PC. :)

Or I have a Windows XP Professional Upgrade with Service Pack 2 Factory Sealed Retail Box with Certificate of Authenticity.  It's brand new and never been opened.  You can have it for $125 plus shipping.  :)

I have had zero problems with ME... even though people poopoo'd it.  Microsoft quit support it a year ago, though all the service pacs are still avialable.  It's so old, no one writes viruses for it... :D

XP is alright, maybe I'll go pick up a copy from work.

If I'm going to spend the money, I'll probably just go pick up a router.   :good

I hate self install crap... the DSL service came with a firewall, I'm sure it's not the greatest, but it'll do for now...
