So on Thursday I got our little newport cruiser registered and got the assigned AZ numbers.  Talked with Doug about cutting numbers and the name for the boat.  A short time later I had proofs of what they would look like and gave him the OK.  Met up with Doug in the parking lot at Newport Dunes, and not only did he have the decals, and they looked great, but he hung around and put them on as well!!!

Thanks again Doug.  All Corina kept talking about all weekend was her Duffy and how great the name and numbers looked.   :beer

Thank YOU Jordy for getting me the job. :good And sharing your satisfaction with the board. :D

Corina was so excited about her Duffy. :good While you and Rob were over by the trucks, I was watching her talk on her cell phone while sitting in the driver's seat of the boat.  She was saying "I'M SITTING IN IT RIGHT NOW!" :D

Yeah, as I was giving her a crash course in duffy operation on the way back over to the house, she was on the phone, texting, wondering how fast it would go, what we could do to make it go faster, back on the phone...  Should be interesting...   :beer  :rotflmao

We ran it all over the place this weekend and had a blast.  Ended up having to put 6 new batteries in it on Sunday, but it's good to go now.

Much better than the Donzi that locked up an engine on Saturday.   :(  :cry  :(

We can arrange that ride, just as soon as we get a new crank, a couple new rods, and put the engine back together and get it over to Cali.  Saturday wasn't a good day for the Donzi.  :(

I don't think we got any pics of the Duffy with the name on it.  I will get some next time I'm out there though.

Word today, broken crank and 2 broke rods.  Thankfully I had nothing to do with anything from before we left the harbor, until we lost the engine with power steering and I had to put it on the dock and then on the mooring.  Still not a good deal though.   :cry

Yeah, it burned up about 8 qts of oil in the matter of a week.  The wierd thing is, I checked it before we went to Catalina on July 5th and it was good.  Checked it before we ran up to Long Beach on July 7th and it was good.  I came home and Rob just putted around Newport with it until we ran down to Laguna on Saturday.  Checked it after it locked up and there wasn't oil on the dipstick.  There wasn't 8 qts in the bilge and there wasn't any sign that it was burning oil.  The engines have like 50+ hours on them and haven't ever used oil.

The mechanice brought the boat back to Rob's shop on Sunday and pulled the engine yesterday.  Counting the 2 qts of oil they added, about 4 qts total came out of the engine.  Wierd deal.   :stupid

On the plus side of things, we'll at least know what's in the engines when we get it back together.  Will most likely go through the other one this fall.  Rob had some assclown in Cali go through the engines and drives and we've been trying to unassclown it for a year.  It's been doing good for the last few months.

This engine ended up with the oil lines that run up to the remote filter pinched between the engine mounts and the stringers.  Found that out when we got the boat back from Cali.  Had Bergeron run through the bottom end and make sure that nothing was damaged.

Unfortunately it's just been one thing after another with the Donzi...  but the stickers on the Duffy look great!!!  :D
