This was a month or so ago, grad party. They were "following" the bus chartered by school that was carrying all the other kids.
I think MMSW posted about it originally.
Accident happened in Escondido along I-15

They were talking on the news here, a girl was just prosicuted for killing a teen in an acident. She was driving in excess of 130mph when she lost control, skidded over 200 ft., left the road and hit a tree over 8ft up, killing her passenger...

It's so sad to see this happening more and more. Cars these days all can go fast, and they feel unwittingly safe driving them. Airbags are not the grand savior.

It was kids from Perris, actually.  But you were pretty close, Hemet is only about 10 miles away as the crow flies.  When I graduated from that school a hundred years ago, you had to ride the bus because the beach we were going to was a secret.  I don't know when they changed policy, but I have a sneaking suspicion it will go back to how it was in the old days.  I hadn't heard the MJ connection, but I wouldn't be surprised.  I know alcohol was a factor.

The report in the paper said there was alcohol involved but said the driver did not seem to have Alcohol in his system, although apparently quite stoned... and high speed driving, suspect he was racing someone else perhaps.
.
Just sad all around, four kids gone and four families adversely affected for life. :(

I don't know how I missed the latest report.  Where did you see it, Ziggy? NCTimes?

All four died in the same accident, Waterdog, though I think there might have been another accident around the same time with high school kids also.
