Nude man tries to enter school grounds

A nude man carrying a chainsaw tried to enter the grounds of Blake Primary School, on Aug. 7. According to a Parker Police Department statement, the man was prevented from entering the open gate and no children were directly threatened by the suspect.
The incident happened at approximately 9 a.m. When the alarm went out on the suspect, Parker Unified School District School Resource Officer, Mike Bailey, was in the vicinity and arrived quickly on scene.
The man was found walking in the 700 block of Mohave Avenue, carrying the chainsaw. Parker police officers detained the suspect and turned him over to Colorado River Indian Tribes police officers.
The man was not identified according the release. Parker Police Sgt. Robert Floring told the Pioneer the man appeared to be in his late 30's
and was possibly intoxicated and tribal law enforcement had taken over the investigation.
The suspect had attempted to enter the school grounds but was prevented by a citizen. Floring said the citizen lived near the school. During the incident, Blake personnel initiated a lockdown procedure which lasted about 15 minutes.
