Here are a couple of photos I took with my camera this morning about 8:30am 7/23. I captured these lightning strikes right out of the backyard of my home. I think I was a little close but hell....lightning gives me a big thrill. Love it!!!! It sure was fun capturing it!!!

No, nothing was damage. The electricity never went off either. It sure was close at time. That first one scared the crap out of me when I struck. I so close in my face. I was sitting out on the back patio watching and recording it. Stay tunned....There's more storms on the way later this week! I post more lightning strikes if I get some good ones on tape.

It's going off here again this morning in Lake Havasu. Lightning, thunder, wind and some rain. Having a hard time this morning capturing the lightning since it seems to be only striking once in one area.

Hey Mike, Like the pic's. They remind me of a lightening storm I got caught in at Lake Mead about 10 years ago. The lightening struck a tree in the camp ground about 50 feet away from our camp. AWESOME
I wouldn't mind being the last man on Earth - just to see if all of those girls were telling me the truth.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments on my lightning photos. I love lightning and just can't get enough of it!! Ok here is one lightning strike that was super close to me. It couldn't have been more that 300-400ft away from me. I captured this video with my cam-corder at my river house in Parker, AZ September 7th 2002. Watch the flash of lightning on the palm tree. You'll get a idea of how close this strike was. Also I remember hearing the zap of electricity before the thunder hit but the video camera mic didn't pick that up. Check it out.
