My POS Burb gets 17-18 at 75 1950rpm with the converter locked up, of course that's under ideal weather conditions too.

My Dmax the difference from 80 to 85 is about 2.5 MPG which is huge.

Circle K around the corner has been at 3.29.


I need to check the Colorado one of these days. I have looked at getting an overdrive unit for the HD to get the RPM down and see what it does. But they are REALY proud of them.

Still $2.85 here.

What engine do you have?, you can pick up 700R4's fairly cheap but they are spendy to rebuild, but I noticed that most shops are crazy on their prices even for a basic rebuilt, and don't forget if you got a 4L60E you'd have to get a stand alone controller(crazy expensive) or convert it to manual.

HD has the 6.0 with the 4L80E. 4.10's in the rear. I went to a 265/75 - 16 that seemed to help just a LITTLE bit from the short a$$ 245's it came with.

If you have a 4L80E in it, you already have overdrive but those gears are killing you big time, the new tires are only an inch difference, hardly noticeable, need to drop down to a 3.42 that would let you run 75mph at just 2000rpm with the 32in tire, little lower if you lock up the converter, with the 4.10's you're looking at 2500 or so, quite a difference.

It buzz's at lease 2500 now at 75. Wish I had a digital tach so I could see much closer to what it is actually running. I passed a buddy one time at 75 and he said it was breathing pretty hard. I was empty at the time.

Heck, just get a good Autometer tach and you're good to go. :good Yeah you need to drop the gear, those big ole tires don't help mileage either.

True. But they do fill up the wheel opening better  :laugh. I thought about going to 3.73's. But don't know if it would hurt towing or hauling. Can't hurt the gutless 6.0 any worse. :laugh

No idea what it's like around here. I have noticed a few stations between home and down town at 2.99. Will see what happens by the end of next week where we are with changes happening monday.  :good
