MAN!!!  What a frig'n week!!! Glad it's done and we have the weekend. Need to clean up the yard before the next wave of rain comes thru. But first going to car show off 23rd and Pinnacle Peak Saturday morning. Should give the Colorado a quicky to knock off the top soil. It looks like he!!

Got the yard cleaned up and the weeds sprayed. I also poked at the tree stump out front. It's getting pretty rotten. Was able to pull up a couple roots that were pretty soft to brake off.

Was out yesterday afternoon checking the week situation. They are looking like they are on their way to death.  :laugh  We will see what happens after this next round of storms.

Oh Yea!!  Lets see if CE shows up. His puter died so I gave him the old one that I replaced with the one I built last year. It was just sitting here collecting dust and space.  :laugh

Thinking about building another one.  I have another pretty close to what I built a year ago. Just changing the drive to a PCI express SSD, Power supply isn't available any more so I changed that. Thats system is an ATX, I also specked out a Micro ATX system. Not sure what I would do with 2 PC's but was fun putting the one a year ago together.

Yeah, it is fun building them and the fact you can make it the way you want it. Last two I built were Micro ATX's, unless you plan to plug in a bunch of accessories I can't see a reason for a full size, even with the Micro you still have a bunch of USB ports and Sata, still thinking about building a wall unit. :good

:laugh   I'm still considering a wall unit for giggles. Thing I haven't researched is the switching from the face plate. Can't be that to difficult as long as you get the right switch for the power and if you wanted an LED for the power. Any USB's needed the ones on the MOBO can be used. HMMM?? Now the brain is working   :laugh

All I did was take the switches out of an old case and glue them on in a convenient place, could make a fancy bracket or directly to the board depending on the build same with USB, my MOBO has 6 USB ports so I didn't have to worry about that, just have to get a little creative, lol. Then you have cable management, that's where it stands out with sleeving, if you do that get a Modular PS because you'll be doing a lot of cutting and crimping and you don't want to open up the PS that will void the warranty, sky is the limit on the creativity, lol. Do a search for "Wall mount computers" and you'll see tons of examples.

I don't have an extra case to steel face plate stuff from. I don't want to destroy a new one.  Maybe I'll look around and see if I can find one for cheap. If I go through with a wall setup, I'll order up the ATX setup. Be simple, but fun to look at and play with.   :good

Just poking around I found this. Looks like a good compact solution and not have to pillage  a case for face plate switches and connections for a wall setup. Only thing I don't like is how long the cable is. I should be able to shorten it to be able to make a cleaner setup.

If I'm going to do this, I need to figure out what I'm going to use for parts. The ATX or the Micro ATX parts I have assembled on newegg. Then I got to figure out how I'm going to mount everything and on what.  :stupid

Yeah, 1st thing is get the parts, then lay them out on a table the way you want it and take a pic, mounting can be on wood, metal or plastic, saw one that was really cool, took plywood then glued strips on it and made it look like hardwood flooring, just creativity and how far you want to go with it, you can mount the MOBO directly to the surface or if you have a junk case, cut and trim the MOBO area and paint it then mount the MOBO to it and just fasten the whole thing to your mounting surface, that's the most practical way since it would be easy to remove the MOBO if you needed to, ATX or MIcro would depend on the size of the overall unit and how many slots you're going to need?. Oh BTW, on a wall unit you can mount all your switches on a bracket and attach it with Velcro in a convenient spot on the desk :good .

Haven't had time to look deeper into doing this. Been a busy week both work and home. Looking like a busy weekend in the yard. I also need to crawl under the HD and check U-joints. I was told they didn't sound happy. Like the O'l dreaded squeaking.  :rolleyes   Can't lube them so It's possible after 185k and 22 years of towing they aren't happy any longer.

Actually the truck has 165k on it. Joints don't feel bad but they are pretty rusty. I'm going to change all 3. While I'm there, going to replace the tranny tail seal. It's staring to leak.

While under there I looked to see what it's going to take to replace the ABS module. Looks like the hardest part is getting to the screws holding it. Have plenty of room just not able to see half of them. Also took the dash apart on the drivers side chasing a rattle since I replaced the signal switch. While there discovered another. Got both of them fixed.  :good

Sprayed the weeds first thing Saturday before dinking with the truck. Didn't do a whole lot Sunday. Monday I mowed and edged the yard front and back. Then go see the tax man.  :eek

When you replace the seal check the bushing for wear also, a worn sloppy bushing will cause a leak too.
