Well, boat left for Nevada yesterday, it'll be a real boat when it comes back. Â
When is it expected to be done?
According to GFR's boss, he has until next summer to have something floating. Looks like the first stage is on the way. Going to be Bad A$$ I'm Sure!!!

Should have seen his Sanger before he re did it, I'd a taken it to the dump I showed him how to rig it and it's a brand new boat now, so when he offered to put stringers in mine, I said hell yeah.

One thing I have been thinking about and didn't ask when I saw you. Are you changing the whole color scheme as well?

Nahh, just gonna leave it as is for now, gel is still in good shape so just gonna get it rubbed out, maybe down the road I will we'll see.
I like it. How about changing "at" to "on" Â "I'd Rather Be On The Colorado River" Either way I like it. Â
Sounds good. I will do that this afternoon. Thanks for the input!
What size is this going to be? Â I got to get something to represent. All these years I have yet to have anything on the trucks supporting Doug's in some way.

Replaced the T-Stat in the Cheby this morning. Now to see what it does cool wise. Hopefully this will do the trick keeping it cool. Now to work on the AC.

I know I should but didn't. Drove it in this morning and it seems to be running just a little cooler. Will see on the way home in the 114* temp. But the real test is having a load up hill. That's when I had the issues.

Running cooler means the T-Stat is opening at a colder temp than rated, but if it still climbs way above when you put a load on it you have other issues, 1st question would be is the T-Stat fully open when hot(another reason to check on the stove)restricting flow will make it run hot, I've had new ones right out of the box barely open half ways.

The old one I know wasn't right as it would hang then snap open. It's only a degree or two is all cooler. I didn't see any issue with the old one but that doesn't mean anything. I also didn't see any temp stamped on it. I have been told the radiators on these have a tendency to have issues as well with clogging. If that's the case then that will be next to hit the garbage can.

Well, if it hangs on the snap it's fully open, I hate them things because you don't know when it's held open, and a lot of times that is the reason for running hot, more if you have a high flow pump coolant don't stay in the radiator long enough to cool all the way down, if I get stuck having to use one of them I always cut the snaps out. But the radiator could be clogging up too, you use distilled water??.

We hit lake Pleasant for a few hours on sunday. Had a good time cruising way up north and in Humbug. Went to Dillons for breakfast. Had our 11 year old grand daughter. This was the first time she has been on the boat and had a blast. She actually fell asleep as we were heading back to put the boat on the trailer since it was getting windy and the idiots were taking over.
Now for the bad. Once we had the boat in the water I was heading up to park and noticed one of the bunks looked funny. Parked everything and went back to look to find that one of the inner bunks has about a foot long rut in it at the back. A chunk out of that rut about 4 inches long was between the carpet and the top of the board. The carpet was torn so I could reach in and pull it out and could feel the missing wood in this rut thats about 1 1/2 wide. Looks like it's time to replace the bunks. I was hoping to get through the season but not looking like it. Any suggestions on what to use for boards? Just a pine board or should I use something pressure treated? Outer's are 2x4's and insides I want to go 2x6 I have a place to get the bunk carpet. Defiantly going grey to help break up the black. Looking at the fender boards, Will do them as well. I replaced them 10 years ago. Got to have them match the bunks.

Well, every trailer I've had just had plain wood and that's how they came from the MFG, but it's been a while since I bought a new one so maybe they use something different these days I don't know, but if you want them to last a real long time then you could put resin on them, more work than I'd want to do though. But depends on how long you plan on keeping it, I bought a new one in 85 and sold it in 98 and they were still in decent shape, and it got used a lot.

Thats starting to look like the plan. Only thing is non of these lakes have any beaches. I may rent a dock at Pleasant Harbor for a day since the ones at the ramps are for short time only. Still in the planning stage but need to get it done.

Bartlett does, been there helping a friend a couple times, and I took mine there once and got kicked off the lake before I even got wet.
