What an eventful night of racing. In out .5 tree class of 12 entries, the first and third place point holders could not attend. This opened the door for second place holder to go ahead just by his entry. That was short lived as he was put out in the second round by our 9th place points holder. 9th place holder went on and won the event. He is our 17 year old running an S15 with a small block that came and tore up the tree all night and not having any issues going over or near index of 12.40(as I remember).
In our .4 class there was some real close and fun racing to watch as well. Points leader (buddy with the vega) plowed through the field of 9 cars to red light in the final round. After running a 9.000 on a 9 flat index in the semi's. He has pretty much locked up the point race as the second place holder went out in the first round. We had a debut of a new entry as he had to sell his wheel standing camero a couple years ago. Now he has one bad a$$ looking and running square body C10 running a big block. Not knowing what the truck will do, came off the trailer running a 9.91. Capping the night off with a 9.77 going out first round. This is or 17 year old's father.

Our two day races in Tucson next month has shaped up to be a good one for our finals in our .5 class. .4 class looks like our leader all he has to do is pay his entry and it's a done deal.

Got a few things done over the weekend. Saturday morning mowed and trimmed up the yard front and back. Didn't get in any hurry and did a better job cleaning up around the edges with the weedeater instead of the half a$$ed quick jobs I have been doing. Saw a couple sprigs on the bushes out front I missed a couple weeks ago so I cut them off. Sunday morning gave the taco a bath since it hasn't seen soap and water for a few months. Looked pretty sad. Then hung new porch lights and installed a fan light kit. Will see what kind of fun and games I will get into this next weekend.

I did. We'll see what happens this weekend. Weather is actually making it nice to be in the garage doing things.
Seeing a doc tomorrow and getting a few things checked out that hasn't been done, well lets just say for too long. If I'm not here Thursday, he probly shot me to put me out of my misery.

FYI, an F350 4x4 will fit on a uhaul car carrier if you put stock wheels on the front. I put the spare on one side and got a second spare from the junk yard for $50. It was cheaper to tow it than drive it.

Must have been a tight fit. I used one of them dollies to get my '76 nova home once and I had to be careful on how a took corners as the fenders on the dolly were real close to the car on turns.

I didn't get the pic until this morning and thought he was using one of them dolly things like I did. I couldn't see that he actually had a trailer for the truck. Yea they only have one length of trailer and only fit cars and small SUV's comfortably. The truck is a firm fit for sure.

I remember several years a go my ex brother in law had a Ford Explorer. Uhaul wouldn't rent him anything to tow behind it. Something to do with a law suit concerning UHaul renting a trailer to some people with explorer a bad accident. That was about 15 years ago. I ended up going and getting the trailer with the chevy, and helping him move what ever it was.

Well, lot of it is liability people don't think, I see people towing stuff that's bigger than the tow vehicle not counting the trailer, if that was a rental deal and they got in an accident because of a wrong combination of vehicles, that would fall back on the rental company. Couple years ago I tried to rent a trailer with my 1/2 ton to pick up another 1/2 ton the same as mine and they wouldn't do it, the weight of the truck and the trailer was beyond the rating for my truck, they said if i had a 3/4 ton truck there wouldn't a problem.

I hear ya!! Â I see so many idiots with travel trailers or toy haulers being towed with a small SUV or half ton truck that the trailers you can tell are way over sized for the towing vehicle. Yea the towing capacity is 6500lbs and the trailer is 5500lbs. No one thinks about bodies in the towing vehicle and what crap they put in the trailer for that camp trip over and above the trailer weight.

Was playing around on Discount Tires site a few days ago mainly seeing what's out there for the Taco for tires. Â Then I got to playing with wheels. I kind of like this. Little old with the new. they are 17x8 and will have 265/65-17's. Not sure what tire I'll go with. Might go back to the OE Bridgestone's or possibly a Pirelli Scorpion Verde A/S Plus. Have Scorpions on the Chevy and love them. Not sure I will do the wheels, but tires will need to be done in the fall if not sooner.
