Quote (BigDog @ July 30 2019,6:55 pm)
After taking the Taco in a couple weeks ago to have the tires rotated and  rebalanced due to a shake, I had it back in today. We will see if that works this time. They were all off. While there I inquired about the were abouts of the center caps for the trailer I have been asking about. Well they are telling me that now all the MB72 wheels have been discontinued and so have the center caps. I have found black ones for the trailer for $60 each. Only thing I don't know is if they are painted or what. Can I strip them and have them chromed? What's chroming going to cost? I found a set of 4 chrome with no label for $175 for the truck. Right now I don't know what I'm going to do. I hate having the buddy Bearings hanging out there. I just may have to live with it for now and deal with it later. I really liked the look of having all 8 wheels matching.

Personally I like them in sight with caps, just for the fact I can take a quick visual and touch them(check for excessive heat) anytime I stop on the road and make sure everything is ok, just peace of mind. Properly setup they never make a mess.

I'm gong to let everything ride for now. I'll put dust covers on the buddy's and roll on.  But you are right on the quick check thing.

I really need to pull the bearings apart, clean, inspect and install new seals. been way to long. Looks like another winter project.

Got the carpet back yesterday afternoon. The medium grey with the light grey binding looks killer. Tough to get a good picture but I'm going to give it a shot.

Got it in the boat Sunday morning. Looks pretty good and I'm happy with the fit. Didn't get the snaps in it. I need to go and get the next longer stem. I'm digging these paint pens for marking. Playing with the ski hold door, I took and marked the top of the male part of the snap and place the carpet down and it makes a good mark to where I need to set the female end in the carpet.  :good   Once marked I took a damp rag and was able to wipe the paint off he snap. I'm going to do the same thing on the bigger section. BUT, will install 4 or five to make sure nothing moves and mark the rest of the snaps, then pull it out and install the snaps with it all on the garage floor. Will be SOOO much easier this way.

I got these at the Home-a-Depot. Probly get them at Wally World or a hardware store. Might be able to get them on line at Amazon. They are Sharpie branded. I have the fine tipped.

Once I get this carpet done. I'm going to see if I have enough left over to redo the carpet in the ski hold. I forgot about that piece. It's looking pretty rough, but still has life in it. Just that it's tan and won't match.

WEEELLL!!!  Good question. Not sure what's next on the boat. I need to get this side yard done so I can get the boat off the driveway. That and power in the garage is the most important.

I discovered a leak on the drive . Last few days I have been watching it. This morning I crawled under it and found the hose that goes from the bell housing to the drive from the drive reservoir up on the engine is leaking. I need to get the drive up and see what it's going to take to fix it.

As for the carpet. The ski hold door is done and back in the boat. I have the main piece marked and ready to have snaps installed. Hopefully get that done tomorrow morning. MAN I love these paint pens!!!  :good   This time I took the pen and put a little on top of the snap and set the carpet down, Took a bleu paper towel and wiped the paint off. Didn't use water this time. Seem to work sinsce I didn't let the paint dry all the way.

This the corner of the lounge seating. The carpet used to follow the cup holder. I just made it round off under the cup holder. This also shows the colors of the carpet and the bonding. There also was a slit going from the table mount to the lounge. I didn't see any reason for it so I eliminated it. I also did the same for the driver seat pedestal. Seat is real easy to remove and set aside to remove the carpet I didn't see a need for it. Plus it made it all a much cleaner look.

Wow, them are some pricey machines there, would have to do a lot of carpet to pay for one of them. :eek I'd need a lot of practice before I'd try that. :laugh

Well $hit it didn't happen they had me all prepped and ready to head for the OR, then Doc came in and said it was cancelled, some dork went and opened up a container with hardware that wasn't supposed to be opened up until it was time to install it, so now the stuff is contaminated and can't be used, good thing he caught it before he had me opened up that would have been a real pi$$er, so now have to reschedule they're gonna try for next week, sure hope they do. At least the hospital offered to reimburse me for all the expense for the trip, but still another delay. :pissed
