Yea the Gov shut stuff down again. BUT we have a lot of places closing voluntarily before he did that yesterday. I expected this when he opened the state back up. When he did the people jumped on the stupid truck and ran to the open bars and hang outs with out a care in the world. The numbers are insanely climbing since he reopened everything. Hospital workers are frig'n beat to death and worn out. Long lines at the testing places. People are pissing up a storm that they are loosing their business and blaming the gov because they have to be closed. Common sense tells me to stay the f!@# at home and not get it or spread it. People need to pull their heads out and pay attention. Until there is a handle on it, I'm all for sh!t shut down. There are just to many people that just are not taking this serious. There are things I want to do and people I want to see. But I don't want them to get it and I don't want it. I only go out if I need to and straight home. Yes wearing that pain in the a$$ mask.

I don't know anyone that has had it, But I do know a couple people that had to go get tested. I also know a nurse on the front line huffing and puffing doing all she can to keep from getting it and keeping it from her husband and 1 year old.

OK OK  Off My soap box.  ;)

Well, some are protesting it too and staying open and they've filed a law suit and ready to go to court over it, actually this bug is not as bad as some of the $hit that's out there now, if only they would start reporting $hit "right" all this panic wouldn't happen, but all this is about destroying Trump and the country anyways,  should be interesting when Pence gets here today, him and Douchebag are supposed to have a conversation about it, looking forward to the outcome of that. :stupid

This is interesting.

Oh I'm sure it is, last one was a small block and put on 80,000mi on it after I rebuilt it, then sold it and as far as I know it's still going strong and that's almost ten years ago now. :good

VERY Interesting video!!!

Can't wait to hear what the Gov and VP's meeting today will bring.

On top of all this BS, Forest service will be closing Tonto Forest starting Thursday morning. That should make even more people happy over the weekend. Only things that will remain open is Saguaro Lake and Roosevelt Lake. I guess there will be some camp spots open but with very high restrictions. Lake Pleasant should be real fun this weekend.

Well, according to the news this morning they just talked about getting more staff for hospitals and $hit, and I see the Casinos are opening up today with stricter cleaning guidelines, so that ought to relieve a bit of of all this BS, should be interesting out here this weekend, Fox's closed down yesterday and RR is open for food only, people coming out for the weekend are in for a surprise, I see a lot more drinking on boats this weekend. :eek

Well, dug into the old dually engine and it wasn't any better and it's filthy, apparently the guy I bought the truck from didn't do such a good job, so I decided to use the one that came out of it since it is clean, but instead of re doing the heads I'll just swap them, they both have the same chamber size so I don't need to change pistons or anything, only thing is the dually engine has 049 heads, this one has peanut port heads, I wanted to use those for more bottom end torque, but the 049's won't cost me anything but a few hours, clean them up, lap the valves and good to go.. :good  Think I'll tear down the tranny today and see what I need and get that ordered.

WOW!!  If it aint one thing it's another. Oh well , sounds like your going to be able to take 2 and make one to get you through. Hopefully the tranny isn't to bad.

Didn't get much done over the weekend. Got the kids moved into their new place. Spent friday looking at interior doors. I guess 29 3/4 x 78 3/4 doors are not a standard size any more like they were in '71.  :banghead   Cutting a 30 x 80 door down to size is going to be more surgery than I want to do. I just want a plain plank door. Nothing fancy. SO!! For now The master bedroom door I made work. It had some goofy hinges to swing the door more out of the way for a wheel chair.  The screws were striped in the jam at the top hing and striped at the bottom hing on the door. So I moved the hinges up a half inch on the door and jam and put normal hinges in. Now the one thing it didn't fix is that the door will on it's own close about 2/3'rds. I can't get to my 4' level, but I'm thinking the jam is not plumb. The door did the same thing with the goofy hinges. All the gaps look good all around the door now where before we couldn't close the door unless we lifted up on the door knob. The door closes great now and doesn't drag anywhere.

Yeah, not exactly what I had planned on the engine but it's not too bad, just more parts and time but it'll be a good one when it's done. Tranny is a piece a cake, $250 and I have a brand new tranny, ordered all the parts Monday, should have it all by Monday. :good

Yeah, warped door jams can really mess things up for doors, especially swinging doors, when doors don't work right, as long as hinges are good first thing is check the jams.

When I get to the point of replacing the doors. I need to pull trim off and see if I can go a wider door that's pre hung. I might be able to squeeze in a 30 inch wide door with frame, but I'm betting I can't get an 80 inch tall door in with out cutting and moving the header up.  :eek   I might be able to fix the office door for now. It has the outer skin coming off. I should be able to squeeze glue in the gap and clamp it down until set. Then do some sanding and repaint it white. It's brown now I'm guessing to match the 70's
paneling.  :rolleyes

Sounds like you may have to do some surgery to get things to fit, standard sizes must have changed or someone did some custom stuff :stupid Shouldn't be a problem re gluing the door skin, I've done that before. Can you still buy door skins, used to be a common thing a long time ago.

I need to go to the folks house and measure their doors and see. Their house is just a couple years older. Different builder but I'm thinking they all used the same door back then. I think you can still buy the door skins. I'll have to look into it. I have even thought about building my own doors.

Never thought of it, now that you mentioned it you may be better off just making your own, save a bunch of time and agrevation trying to find the right size, then probably still have to do some trimming to make them fit just right, they are pretty easy to make.

I have to laugh at this situation and what people are doing and saying. I remember a little over a year ago all the schools were all for having a police officer on campus just in case. All the parents, kids and school staff were all on board. Last night on the news they had a bunch of kids now don't want to have police on campus as it's not safe.  :rolleyes  :laugh  I give it to the next issue on a campus they will be crying to have the police on campus because the response time wasn't quick enough. Then the police will to be the blame for not protecting the staff and students. I say the police don't cruise the streets. They all station at the local precinct and wait for a call, then go to the location as needed and return to the precinct when done. Would save the cities a lot of money in gas.  :good    :D

Yep, need to find a "real" lumber yard, I think Lowe's and Home Dump buys up all the $hit that real lumber yards won't touch. :rolleyes

That wouldn't surprise me a bit. When I did the boat trailer bunks, I went through half the pile of 2x4's to get two that was straight enough I could work with. Same with the 2x6's. The smaller boards are even worse. I needed a 1x3 when I did the window on the side of the garage. I went through just about the whole pile before finding one I could use.   :rolleyes

Yep, that's typical, even their Kiln Dried stuff is crap, I bought some before and by the time I got home it was warped, WTF. There used to be a a good place in north phoenix(a true lumber yard) but I can't remember the name now, don't even know if they're still in business anymore. :stupid

I know there is one at Northern and Grand. Not sure if they serve the general public or not. I'll have to look around and see whats around if that's the rout I go. I just might go back to the door place we stopped at last week and have them get us some matching doors.

On another note. I was talking to my neighbor and he called a guy to get a gate quote. I think he said his opening was 14ft wide. Either way, they guy quoted him just over $1700.  :eek  I just need to fill about 12ft or so. I can't wait to to find out what I'm in for. We both want the same style gate. Just a plain black gate with the wood slats. Nothing fancy just a simple gate. I guess I'm going to learn to weld like I have wanted to for quite some time.  :D   :laugh  :good
