Been looking at their $100 unit. Figure that would be a good place to start. If I cook it I'm not out a whole lot. I'm also looking at one at home depot for $200 that seems like a nice unit. Either way I should be able to learn and practice on small things.

They work just fine, just don't push them beyond their capacity, a half hour job may take an hour but you can still do it. Also make sure the one you pick out is capable of the thickness of material you're going to use without running on full heat all the time, that's what's hard on them.

I don't plan on building bridges. Just small stuff and very minor repairs or build a gate or two. There are times I'm messing around and wish I could weld something and not have to figure out a way to bolt or rivet things together to make them work. I know welding can take time to learn, I think I can make something and not have it fall apart just by looking at it. If I can ever get my sewing machine to where I can use it There are a few things that making a metal frame would be cool or just to make a simple stool or chair.

Welding is easy, a little practice is all you need and learn how much heat you need for the thickness material, main thing is to be steady which is something I could never do for some stupid reason, not even doctors could figure that one out.

It sucks I'm locked up inside all week in the office and get home to it being to hot to do anything outside. Weekend I can get up early and go out but I keep getting detoured until it's to warm to do anything outside. Now that the humidity is climbing a cooler won't be much help. Guess I'm going to have to suck it up and keep a big jug of ice water handy.

Went out early this morning and was able to get one marker light hole cut out and test fitted. Still need to do the other side and wire the lights up. Need to pick up an electric cut off tool. What I used was an air drill with an adaptor to put a 3" cutting wheel on. My compressor was having a hard time keeping up to get the cuts done. Smaller quick things it works great but this was stretching the compressor just a little to much. I had to keep stopping to let it catch up.

I have a china store 29gal 2hp 150psi unit. (Not the oil less one) Works great for everything ells I toss at it. I picked it up almost 6 years ago. Saved my bacon when I pulled the tranny on the chevy where I could use my air tools to get things apart and back together. Air stapler was the ticket on the trailer bunk replacement.

Yeah, they work great on stuff like that, it's the continuous supply is what kills a single stage, I keep saying I'm gonna get two stage until I see the price on them..

I looked at them when I was looking to get an air compressor. Yea they were quite out of my price rang and still are. That air drill is all I have that needs that kind of supply. My little 29 gal unit will work for now.

Went to Home De-Pot yesterday and got a portable cooler. Set it up and cranked it up. I just poured water in it to test it out. I dropped the garage door about 3/4 the way down and let it run for a bit on medium speed. Seemed to cool the garage down a bit. Being 115* out and the sun hitting the garage door, it did pretty well. I pointed it to where I was dinking around and I stayed comfortable enough to do stuff. This afternoon I will hook the hose to it and let it rip. I can at least get out of the house and do something with out killing myself doing it with this heat.

It will get to do it's thing Saturday morning so I can get the garage cleaned up and finish the lights on the trailer. Going to get rid of a bunch of stuff that's not being used and have no use for. Need to hit the dump and empty the trailer so it can go outside for awhile.

Didn't get to the dump Saturday morning but I did get the trailer lights done. That thing is bright. Had the neighbors even making comments about the glow in the driveway.
Spent the rest of the morning in the garage cleaning up. Had the cooler cranked up an felt pretty good until about 11:30 then it started to get real humid. Sunday morning I went out and spent until about noon before it started to get sticky in the garage. All in all it wasn't to bad at all.

Yes LED's. I replaced all the lights with LED's about 5 years ago . When I ordered them I got 2 more ambers to add to the front of the trailer. Those two are the ones I just finally installed. They are the Optronics AL91 Series 3 diode marker lights. If I were to do it again, I would do the single diode. I didn't think they would be this bright.
