Oh you are funny glassman! There will be no internet connection (yet) in the toy hauler! We picked it up on Saturday, went over pretty good, I had one little issue with the drawers, they were pulling on the laminate front of the cabinet beacuse the exposed edges weren't smoothed out good enough. I'm just going to take a fine sandpaper and go around and smooth that part out so the drawers don't catch and pull on that. But seriously other than that the trailer looks amazing, roof seals look good, window seals look good. We got the billett interior and for 2008 it's a lot lighter than the 2007 so I personally think it looks way better. We also added the interior diamond plate on the lower part of the wall, to prevent scuffs from tires, that looks wayyyyyy awesome. I went out and spent a small fortune on stuff for the interior (from your earlier list ) I am sure I've missed a million things that I'll need but I'll figure them out this weekend when we make our maiden voyage! I have a feeling this week is going to DRAG! PS - I'll post pictures from the maiden voyage, the trailer is already in storage and I forgot to take any pics.
Goin to the river to destroy my liver!

Too bad they're not real cherry wood. Weekend Warrior does not use "real wood" in their trailers, but instead use particle board cabinets with veneer type contact paper. It looks great until it starts to peel. We were totally turned off by Warrior when we looked deeper than the skin. Warrior has been having big time problems due to the tare weight of the trailers being above the max gross weight, and tongues bending. The standard tires for non-superlites are 15" that are not rated for the max gross wt of the trailer. There have been many complaints of cabinets(mainly the TV cabinet) falling off the walls while being towed. They have serious customer service issues as well, and don't hold their values as well as others according to NADA Guide. To read about the issues, visit RV.NET forums. We looked for 11 months before deciding on our trailer, which is a garage model with bedroom slide and living room superslide. We also were able to buy our trailer which has every available option and upgrade for $33200 OTD. The msrp for ours was $59680. The only thing we've added is a MovinView satellite dome for DirecTv.

Way to rain on someone's parade! Glad you like your trailer, I'm sure we will like ours. Were you in Glamis the weekend before Thanksgiving? Someone with a "Trailer Trash" sticker almost ran us off the road trying to pass on the 86... From your previous post sounds like something you might do... Â PS-Nice sticker |
Sorry! Didn't mean to rain on anyone's parade. I posted my comment before reading all the posts. The issues I posted are real major issues for WW and their owners. It's got them going to court, and there are rumors of class action. Congrats! I hope you enjoy your trailer and do not have problems with it. Do yourself a big favor and change the tires immediately if it has Carlisles. They blow out like no tomorrow and do lots of damage. If you don't have them, cool. No, it wasn't me going to Glamis on 86. Haven't been yet this season, but if you're running 55-60mph, you can bet you won't see me trying, you will see me pass you!

It is a 2004 F350(no F250 duallies) with the 4.10, but with the tires I'm running, the equivalent gear ratio is 3.71. It pulls the wheels off of the trailer! My trailer weighs just at 16210 when fully loaded with toys, gear, water, and our usual provisions. I have the 6.0 Powerstroke with an all stainless 5" non-cat turbo back Magnaflow exhaust, and a Hypertech III tuner. I haven't changed out the air intake, to a CAI since all of the tests done in Diesel Builder and Diesel Power magazines proved them to be a zero gain in hp over the factory Ford intake and filter.

We will be in the market for a small unit here soon...!! Pulling with my F-150 SuperCrew, 5.4L, so just enough to get out of town for a day or two... Looks like 7,000lbs or so....

Quote (Carrera Elite @ Dec. 06 2006,6:59 am) | How old are your trailers, and what issues have you had with them?? Anything that you would change?? |
Mine is a 2005 Forest River F37 Sierra Sport. The only issue I've had with it was a blow out with the stinking factory Greenball tires. They had about 15K miles towing on them when it blew, so I immediately changed them out for Goodyear G614RST commercial trailer tires. As far as changes go, we added a MovinView satellite dome to ours and removed the small flat top tv stand/cabinet that comes from the factory and added a floor to ceiling entertainment center in it's place, and we added a canned goods pantry next to the entry door using up 18" of unused wall space.

Quote (GlassMan @ Dec. 06 2006,11:48 am) | Nice addition. Why did you go with the "Movin' View"? Can you have peeps back there while you're towing?
I have been looking at satellite for mine and I think I'll just go with a portable dish and use a reciever from home. We don't watch a helluva lot of TV while out there, we only get 3-4 channels of regular TV. Otherwise it's DVD's, but how many times can you watch "Fifty Nuts"! |
We went with the Movin View brand of dome. We bought the stationary model(only works when parked) not needing the on the road model for an additional $350. I chose that brand due to the fact I'm really anal about buying the best product for my money and did a lot of reading up and researching the various brands of domes, and found this to be the best brand overall. When we get to where we're going, I just flip the satellite power switch inside the trailer and the dome automatically tracks the signal and adjusts to 90-100% signal strength within about 60-90 seconds, then shut off the power switch. The Movin View has the least amount of issues due to rain fade. We watch tv at night, and it sure makes a great baby sitter for the kids. Also since I have DirecTv, I don't need a seperate XM radio since that is what they have for their music channels. Since it's a garage model, we also use our trailer for general rving, and it's nice to have the DirecTv with us instead of antenna. HBO is better than UPN any day!
As far as riding in it, yes, it's perfectly legal and perfectly safe. It must be a fifth wheel, and you must have two way communication and a way to exit in an emergency. It's legal in many states. We do it all the time when we're on long trips, and it's not any worse than riding in a motorhome. In fact, our old(2001) 38' motorhome threw you around worse. Nobody or nothing gets thrown around. Kids are NEVER left alone back there, however(don't even want curiosity of opening a door). It's nice for them to be able to watch movies or play board games back there as I'm driving 300-500 miles at a stretch. I don't get questioned "are we there yet?" or told "I gotta go to the bathroom!" or "I'm hungry". Â

To me there's nothing worse than driving for 2 hours and having to stop for an hour then drive for another 1 1/2 hours and stop again. It makes me tired. I also don't get told to turn down the stereo or change the channel.

Art, if I had one of those...I'd leave town and keep on going! |
I hear that, the trailer is a stacker, K boat on the top, tricked out 65-66 Chevy panel on the bottom!..
