dont waist you time driving all the way to chapperall chances are you local shop can help you better and will defininatly care more about customer service this letter proved it to me. pass it on :comp
OK in October I received some money for my birthday not a lot but enough to buy a few things. In your catalog #75 dirt 06 on page 75-96 there is an o'neal hydration pack #023-1425-103 listed for $30.99. I bought 2 plus another 5 or 6 items about $200.00 total. my son and his friend were there his friend spent another $60.00.
when I went to check out the pack was at the warehouse no problem I could go get it I was just glad you had everything and I got out in one trip. the cashier gave me the total and it seamed about $30.00 high so I looked at the prices in the computer and the packs were set a $44.00 ok price changes happen I understand so the cashier explained that there was nothing she could do I understand so a "MANAGER " comes over says "I'm sorry we must have new stock and they cost us more so that's the want it or not". Kind of shocked buy lack of customer care or service and again understanding prices change being in the automotive business myself, I asked for  a 10% discount on the packs not on the other $120.00+ worth of parts that any shop in the country would give almost anybody, that would be what $9.00, minimal and I thought fair for find a mistake in the catalog.
with that the next response "no I can't do that ether do you still want them" instead of me storming out with four letter words I am famous for I just said ok. I guess I'll take them. its 10 to 6 closing time I went over to get a sticker I waited for about 5 minutes @ a LOCKED (wtf) sticker cabinet and gave up on that cause I was told if I wasn't at the warehouse by 6 I was out of luck. great now thing are really starting to eat at me to were I'm getting pissed.
Ok maybe I'm over reacting, but I purchased a motorcycle from Chaparral last year. I have spent thousands of dollars with Chaparral over the 16 years I have been shopping there because of the great service and prices there but now that you are so big that seams to have all changed I don't see the great deals on last years or out dated gear anymore.  All I got was do you "want it or not" . Hopefully I can get over this but if that's the way you do business now I don't see you being around much longer anyway. Between the "hurry and get to the warehouse or they are going to leave". shows me they don't give a shit. and the you have 12 people behind you and want to close who are paying customers so I don't give a shit "do you want them or not".
Well thank for reading this I have never done a letter this long but I just think that whole thing was wrong
and if I don't  at least here back from you I will have to go to more than one place to get my parts for my 3 bikes  I have now and what ever I get in the future. I already ripped off the chaparral stickers  from the 110 and put Temecula Motorsports ( that they gladly gave me free yours cost?) on the fender of my yz400f. they a least give me 10% and good service so most time I don't even ask. I don't know what will change my feeling but your reply will weigh greatly on my support and business with Chaparral.
Thanks again for you time,  :banghead

Just stumbled over this.....that's too bad wakemaker, I guess it happens when a store gets too "Corporate" I've only been out there a few times and it seemed like a big supermarket to me. Not very personal, but OK.

Out here we have few choices and they are invariably high priced....but I was shopping at the local shop - del Amo, last night with my wife. We were looking to get her some warm riding gloves and a couple of birthday gifts for a party this weekend. One of the gifts was a sweatshirt that had a $48 price sticker on it, but it was on the security tag and clearly not for that item - it was for some camo thing.
Anyway the real price was $75! :eek  For a sweatshirt!

The guy was so cool about it (I just dropped a few bills on parts and stuff) he rang it up at the lower price, said,"Hey, you wouldn't have picked it out and brought it up here if you thought it was $75.

And, we got a 10% discount on the whole purchase plus 40 points on a loyal customer card.  :D

On the way out, the guy who sold me a bike for my daughter came running after us to ask how she was doing.

One thing you don't get with the big discount shops.  :peace

Shop From Hell, er....Chapparal is huge, but I've bought 6 different things from them over the last 5 years, from the same salesman, Joel. He is a great guy who has not forgotten who I was from the first purchase I made there. I've also dealt with the same two finance persons for all of my purchases. For the first timer it can be quite intimidating, but if you get to know people ther, it can be quite pleasant. One thing for sure, if they don't have it, it most likely doesn't exist!

In highland that is your local shop,Unfortunatley this did happen and it sucks because I loved that place, If your local shop doesn't have it they can get it just as fast they all use Tucker Rocky or Parts Unlimited.

Here is a link to our last experience at Chapparral

chapparral customer service

We found a great place for parts/clothing/gear in Temecula.  I don't know the name of it, but you can see it from the freeway.  It's right next to Bootbarn off the Winchester exit.  If anyone needs more directions, just let me know.  They also have service.  Temecula MS is good, but they didn't have many clothes or gifts.

Living sexy is more normal wouldn't you think?  :stupid  :good
.

Its a shame that the big shops are run that way but they usually have a big overhead to crack each month. I can say with complete authority employees who just want a paycheck care the least about the business side of it and only think about how big a commision will be....Loss leader ads don't usually pay diddly to the sales person so its a low priority for most. Getting to know and trust your local store will be better for the consumer long run.

Oh, you know I do that  :bebe

Also, the bike we got wasn't a loss leader.  We just walked in and picked it out.  They had 20 of them, same exact thing.  Bottom line is they mark their crap way up, and you can take it or leave it.  And you'd better use their card to pay for it, or it will cost extra, since they're not going to make the money on the financing.  At least that's the way it was 2.5 years ago.

:good We use Parker Yamaha for hard parts, not real great for gear, but if you call them and use the internet pricing it s great for bikes. Bought my sons last year, lowest price period and picked it up the next time we were in town  No BS just a low price. :good
