Quote (Purple Jurk @ Aug. 27 2020,2:06 pm) | Well I am looking to get a Marine electronic HEI.  But I can’t afford to buy anything expensive. Not right now at least   |
Just get a plain ole AC Delco HEI and forget about it.

Quote (Purple Jurk @ Aug. 27 2020,2:29 pm) | I was a little concerned about the miss being low compression on a cylinder, so I took a compression test today and was really happy with the turn out. The lowest is 121 to 129. I guess I should have done that first thing   |
Not too bad, did you fire it up first before testing?

Thanks Rod, I'm sure he will I don't even have any soreness anymore, but even if he does I'm still gonna take it easy till next summer since he said it really takes a year to be a 100%.
This one is a one owner it had an I/O in it, got rid of that and a friend of mine put 4 full stringers in and plugged it all up, so now it's like a new boat.

Quote (Purple Jurk @ Aug. 30 2020,6:54 pm) | Then putting in the carpet and making new seats. That might not be good for me to do as I am not a very good wood worker. Â |
Key is cardboard for patters. Helps a bunch. Being at the Irish Auto parts store you should be able to get some nice boxes to hack up into the shape you want and be able to adjust for cuts and shape. I redid a back seat in a Baja a few years back. A couple pieces were to far gone to use as a pattern. Broke out the card board and cut them out. Came out great.

Quote (Purple Jurk @ Sep. 01 2020,6:16 pm) | The day started out pretty good. I wasn’t sure about the extra wires after putting in the new distributor. I really am not good at electrical so I went to a buddies shop and he talked me through it. Good thing thu because I would have never guessed that I need a bigger wire to run the distributor right but it is in now and running awesome. I can’t believe the difference.   |
Yep, HEI's are as simple as it gets, one 12 volt wire to the distributor, I always use 12 gauge..

Yes it happens but it shouldn't, is one side hotter than the other? I'm assuming yes, there is a restriction somewhere not necessary in the lines but could be in the exhaust or the engine, crud builds up and if it sat for sometime it dries up, then when water starts flowing again it moves all that crud and gets caught in passages especially in sharp corners and 90* forged fittings.
