OK, here's mine. 97 Sportcat, blown 509. Currently has a busted drive. This will hopefully be repaired very shortly! Current best speed is 114.5 mph at the Parade of Lights (during the day of course :D ) Got a new Hydromotive prop to test once the thing gets all back together. Need to make some more trips to Havasu this coming Sping!

Yeah, It's been apart WAY too long :( I was all jazzed to try this new prop. It requires more positive trim than a Bravo. The day we went out to Pleasant it was too rough to get it that high. Tried a couple of runs but just couldn't safely trim her up. Then bam :eek zinged the motor. Luckily it didn't hurt the motor, I got her pulled back quick! Hit the GPS recall, it let go at 98.4 mph! You ever bring that v over to the west side?

Well hope you have better luck this time!.. :good

I took my boat to Bartlett one time when I put the injectors on to try it out instead of going all the way out to the river, what a mistake that was!. :(  Never even got it in the water, I was on the trailer making some adjustments on the barrel valve before launching right, here comes this old bastard cop in his boat, comes right up behind my boat, tells me to shut it off and starts yelling at me like I was some fkn child molestor or something, goes on and on about noise, tell me I HAVE to have water(I had mufflers), finally after about 5 minutes of his shit, I told him he could take his cesspool lake and shove it up his ass!. :angry Then it took me almost a whole day to clean the boat from all the dirt I got from going up there. THEN, I had to listen to the wife's shit about "I told you we should have gone to the river" blah, blah, blah!..(couldn't argue with her though, she was right!;)!. :angry I'll stick with the river. In over 20 years going to the river, I've never been treated that way ever even when I got my ass reamed!!..As far as I'm concerned, AZ can take all these shit holes and shove them up their ass!.. :angry

Ooops, sorry for the vent!.. :D

Yeah, we'll have to do that when I get everything running. Only drawback is that by the time I get over there, I can go the opposite direction and almost be in Havasu!! :)

Is your boat back together?

GFR, sounds like you don't have any use for valley boating  :D  KC, that sucks, were they severe duty inakes? Typically seems like you see the exhaust fail.

Hard to say  :stupid it failed at about 3500rpm. The heads had quite a few hours on them from the last rebuild 5-6 years ago that my Dad did. They checked out ok as far as sealing and cracks go, so I decided just to run'em. Its just a cammed up 454 nothin special. I'm thinking that when I lost the crank bearings in the spring that I may have had some valve interference issues. The bearings on that hole were pretty much gone(had about .125 play on the rod)

Looking into heads/valves now. Have a short block ready or if $$$ comes around I'm might get a long block from somebody. Hell it gives me a reason to   :drink what the hell else are boats good for :rolleyes

Damn KC hope you get it back together soon. The weathers beautiful out now for wrenchin' on the boat and i'm stuck at work  :confused  Oh well, only 2 or 3 more Saturdays to work. Get the drive fixed, recover the hatch and finish converting the fuel system over to a return style set up and I'm goin' boatin! I hope to make a "winter" Havasu trip in February or so to take advantage of the good air and see if I can break my speed mark (but not my ass   :p )

Later.

A guy I know in Ohio has a Sportcat like mine, his horsepower was about the same as mine on the dyno. He was running a 32 Bravo and ran 114 hitting 5800-6000 r's. Same as me. He went with the 31 Hydro and went 122 bringing the r's down to 5500. So in good water and weather I'm hoping to crack 120, but that will take perfect conditions. My boats really only 20'3" transom to bow, they add in that damn swimstep :rolleyes To get that speed she's right on the back   of the transom. It didn't feel scary at 114, but you knew you weren't going to do be cutting a bouys as well! :D  I got a video of the run on VHS, I need to take it to a guy in town and have it transferred to a disc so I can post it on my site.
