Well, we have recently finished a complete rebuild on our 1975 Biesemeyer so time to post up on it.

Engine is 468ci BBC, Full Roller motor, Ported Merlin 345cc Heads, 13:1 CR, Port matched Weiand TR and 2-750 carbs, ATI Harmonic balancer, Bassett water injected Headers with shutoff valve, Mallory Comp 140 fuel Pump,MSD Ignition, and lots more.  V-Drive is a Casale 10 deg. with 22% Lightened gears and a new Whirlaway.  Prop is a Menkens. New Interior, new paint (Matches Mrs BBT's Vehicle), new driveshaft, etc.

Oh yeah....I think it's for sale(?) :rolleyes

On the other hand, it WOULD be easier to install a different motor than it would be to cut down those 12" Cavitation Plates :D

Not yet....but I do look at the "Hobbit" boats for sale on the SSRS website every day :rolleyes  :D  :good   That sure would be nice :love
Seriously though, before we spend anymore $$ on the boats we have to address 2 issues first....

1.  Will I be able to drive a V-Drive again with my injury, or even be able to hit the waves without pain for that matter?  They are talking about replacing 2 discs in my back, but although the procedure has been around Europe and Australia for about 10 years now, it is a relatively new procedure in the US.  The Doctor says I am a good candidate for it due to my age (40 in March) and potential to overcome the healing obstacles.  But, will the insurance company go for it????  Time will tell.

2.  We REALLY need for this refinance to go through so we can payoff a few credit cards.  I've been on Workmans Comp since August 15, 2003 and have been losing about $1500.00 per month since then.  It catches up with ya.  Again, time will tell.

So, after the outcome of the 2 concerns listed, the Mrs says it's ok to fulfill my dream to Build/Buy a K-Boat.  It probably won't be this summer though :(

Well hurry up and get your ass fixed will ya!. :laugh Can't be having a K Boat and not drive it!... :laugh
There's only one of those "Hobitt's" left, he sold the second boat, the one he's has left is the first one and it has all the hardware that came out of mine and it shows it's age, the boat is a D"Cucci!.. :D

As far as I know he still has it havn't heard different. Most of the cost is for the motor, it's a high dollar piece that's way too much for the boat to begin with!. I don't know if he'll separate it or not?. That is a good boat though, kinda looks like shit with the anno all faded but that's no big deal to fix. With a blown 468(or less) it would be an awesome piece!.. :good  :good

Hey Art, if you look at the pics of our boat you'll see that it doesn't have the side supports.  Are these necessary?  Do ya think I should make some and glass them in?  The only place the boat gets any stress cracks is along the bow in 2 little areas (So far) but I think that's just a typical Biesemeyer thing....
the boat seems pretty heavy and I don't see any flexing while pushing in on the sides, but I'd like to keep it that way

Yeah I noticed that and I was wondering what the deal was with that, I've never seen a Biesemeyer without them.. :stupid From the way the hull is made I would think they are needed, to me they are a structural item, after all they didn't put them in there for looks but, if the boat is stout enough maybe you don't need them? :confused If you can press down along the sides of the deck at all I would put them in, in fact I think I would put them in regardless and be on the safe side!.. :good

You know, after thinking about the current situation long and hard, I figure that it's gonna be a long time before I'll be able to run this boat the way I want to.  Summer is approaching and I want to be out on the water having fun and I have this Biesemeyer Daycruiser sitting here that needs restored so that we can use it.  I think that the odds of me being able to spend a day at the lake in the daycruiser are alot better than with the flatbottom.  However, also due to the current situation, I don't have the spare $$ to have the Daycruiser redone.  So, I'm seriously thinking that maybe I'd better sell the Flatbottom (This boat).  I don't really want to because I love the boat so much, but there will be another time later down the road when I can build another hopefully.  So, I am putting this boat up for sale.  $12000.00 Turnkey.  I have alot more than that into it.  I may sell it minus motor for $7500.00 if anyone is interested.
Better to be on the water in a Daycruiser all day than to be on the water in a flatbottom for 15 minutes and in bed the rest of the day :(
