If I had the parts maybe, stuff is back ordered said it would be a week and a half, so I figure another week yet. So, in the meantime I'll get the front all cleaned up along with the motor, and maybe start on the rear end!.. Know anyone that has aluminum side and valve covers for an inline 6 laying around, oh, and a set of headers and intake also!.

Thanks Gary, I will post pics of the progress!. I'm not doing a basic rebuild on this thing since the factory suspension is weak, I'm replacing the whole works with tubular A arms, eliminating the strut rods, putting a rack in and disc brakes, should last a long time not to mention a huge increase in handling!..

I'll Let Yopu Know If I Find Anything.......Which 6 Does It Have?? 250?? |
Yep, that's what I'm looking for is Clifford, not sure what it is, it's a low deck but the casting numbers says it's a 292, but all 292's are tall decks. Low decks are 194-250!. I got the motor out and ready to clean it, gonna have to put all new gaskets in it so when I pull the pan I'll check the crank numbers!... BTW, if you find a set of Mercury covers, they will work too!.. And thanks for looking!..

I agree, actually a 383 would be even nicer, but I'm looking at mileage here!..

What kind of mileage you hoping for. |
I've talked to some that say they are getting 30, but I think that would take some head work for that??, but without going into the motor just a good intake/exhaust system and overdrive, should be able to get 27 out of it, that's what I'm shooting for anyways!..

Got the ole scraper and pressure washer out yesterday, must have dropped 50lbs off the front!. Next step is to remove the wore out steering box and column, a new IdidIt tilt column comes with the rack kit!..

Yeah not too bad considering how it was, about as good as it can get without taking the whole thing apart!. Truck is stored at the river at a friends place, couple of blocks from the property, the original chassis is still here though, can't sell it either!..

Well, here is SIR "UGLY" in all it's glory, why do people let things go to $hit like this is beyond me!...

So, fired up the ole pressure washer again and let er rip, still ugly but at least it's clean. Now for some new gaskets, aluminum valve and side covers, intake and headers!.. If anybody happen to know of any of this $hit laying around someplace please let me know I would appreciate it!...
