She will love it, I'm sure.  It's a very fun boat and very cool looking.  Everywhere we go, people ask us about it.  It's a great conversation starter.  The only thing she might not like is that there is really nothing to hold on to when the water gets a bit choppy.  I usually just grab Jeff's (insert body appendage here :D ) and he slows down or speeds up, whichever it takes.  :laugh

It's a little high, with the needed repairs, for the current budget, BUT it is a HALLETT.... :love

My dilemma is:

The '83 (Shue Tread has pix) with the BBC is much cleaner, more "finished", has a better seating arrangement, but it is $3000 more.  The motor is much higher performance, which means ???

The '78 is a stock 454, will need some cosmetics (seats/trailer) and the pump updated, but they are giving me a good price, and I can cruise around in comfort.

I'm leaning towards the '78....any input / comments..??

Gary, cosmetics are nothing it's the value of the boat "Hallett" holds the value and what you put into it to better it just increases the value, not to mention you'll have a WAY better boat!.. :good
