Sounds like it's time to change the pickup location!..

After thinking about it awhile I begining to wonder if thats what I should do. :stupid Do you know of anyone in town that could change out my bottom part of my outdrive to a diffrent case? They way I looking at it, it's going to cost about $400 to $600 dollars just for a strainer :eek  (depending on which one I go with), shit a couple more bucks and I can get a new lower case installed. Then I don't have to worry about cleaning out the strainer all of the time. :good

A Strainer Isn't A Bad Idea, Even If You Do Have The Lower Changed. There Are People That Say That The Pick Up Like Yours Is A Better Set up.

Maybe he can find one to trade. Sea strainer is great for the occastional opps, but day to day cleaning. I still think it's better just to stop eating sand.

ROUND 2:

So took the boat out yesterday for a little test run. This past winter I replaced all of my guages so the would work of the sending units not the computer that Nordic put in. After talking to them they told me that my year of boat had a problem with the computer that runs the guages goes bad. So anyway it seems that the temp guages is still doing what it was doing before I changed the guages. It will sometimes sit at 135. I have a 140 thermostat in it. But sometimes the guage will sit there and jump from 100 all the way to 240 and then back down to 130. :eek  :stupid  Last year when the audible alarm would go off. Yesterday it never went off. I have a handheld temperature reader. The water knucle was always about 82 and the intake risers were about 120. Which is standard operating temps. So long story short I have no idea where to look next. :angry  :banghead  :stupid  :cry

Is that a new t-stat you have in there??, sounds like it's sticking!. :stupid Anytime I change a t-stat I always put it on the stove in boiling water and check it, I've had bad ones right off the bat before!.. :banghead But if it was me I'd hook up a mechanical gauge to it and try it, but I don't have any faith in that electrical crap anyways!. :beat

:rotflmao  Sorry I couldn't help myself. That's just to funny. Seriously though. I'm pretty much having the same problem as you are but not as extreme. The last person to work on mine, Aaron at Absolute, only charged me $250 to tell me he looked it up in a book and it's normal. Bull Droppings.

That was after the $250 he charged that apparently caused the problem.
