You're in AZ remember!.. Ya know, you could have a kinked line or a line that's collapsing I've seen that before and that can drive you nuts!. I'd still borrow a mechanical gauge and try it though, just to eliminate possibilities!. If you get a chance drag it over sometime if you want!.. |
I'm going to have to take you up on that. I heard that the hose that comes in from the outdrive into the transom is the one that collapses. I also heard that it is a pain in the a$$ to replace. Let me know what your schedule looks like next week and maybe we can take a look at it togethere. I will bring the beer. |
Well, this Sat we're going out looking at homes but Sunday works, or if you have a day off during the week is cool also, whatever works for you!.

Wow, I'm in the wrong business Bring it over I got lots of books!. I'd say it's more like "bull$hit" I can't see a problem like that being normal!.. |
That was after the $250 he charged that apparently caused the problem. |
Nice Hey, you still interested in the beater??. |
Yes |
So, I can take the shoe polish off then!.

Quote (lakebound @ May 29 2008,8:16 am) | So I was working on the boat last night and decided to take off my recirculating pump and looky what I found. Geez I wonder if that has anything to do with my temp guage jumping all over the place. Â Â |
One of them there high Performance water pumps that works like a fan clutch. As the engine warms up it senses the temp and pumps the water. They just forgot to put the sensor on yours.

The sensor is in the hose that goes from the water knuckle to the recirculating pump. So maybe about 6 inches. |
Ok, just wondered if it was a long ways apart you could get a different reading, but that close wouldn't have made a difference!.

Quote (lakebound @ June 02 2008,8:15 am) | So I took the boat out on Saturday. I'm actually pretty happy. The boat ran good no overheating issues. The temp stayed at about 180. When I was running it pretty hard it got up to about 195. I was told that is standard operating temp. So I think I might have finally fixt my problem. I have a stupid question. How does the speedometer work on a boat? When I replaced all of the guages I ran a new speedometer tube. I noticed when I running I'm getting water leak up at the gauge. Do I need to just zip tie that so no water can leak or is there something wrong with it? |
Everyone of those I seen just had a chinsy rubber or plastic tube that slipped on behind the gauge, the end might be dried out and loose or starting to split, might cut a half inch off and slip it back on so it's tight, seen this before no big deal if that's the case!..
