Absolute no. Last time I was there they fixed a small exhaust leak. That made no difference. Took it back again. They were convenced that there was a blockage in the first oil cooler. Flushed both for the third time. Still no difference. Last time there, Aaron himself said that he just got off the phone with Mercury, and that Merc had said it was normal so there was nothing else they could do. Most that I have talked to, various Merc mech's as well as Eliminator and Mercury themselves believe it is a thermostat problem. To my knowledge, Absolute never checked this even after I suggested they do.

That sucks. Hopefully they get it worked out for you. :good  Who is doing the work this time? :stupid  From personal experience it seems that alot of mechanics (boat and car) have a problem if you suggest something they take a look at. It is a mear suggestion and some of them get all offended. :banghead That's why I have a tendecy to do all the work myself. I'm always up for suggestions when I get stuck. :stupid  :D

Prestige. Same place I was originally referred too. The day I needed it done they couldn't do it until the end of the day and Absolute could do it then for less money. Time and time again we learn being in a rush and boats don't go together. Of course that day we didn't take the boat back out either. In the last few weeks I've talked to many that have opinions I trust. All have said Prestige is good. Eliminator is now using them also. Not being able to work on my boat is killing me. Checking a stat on a motor with heating problems seems like common sense to me. Making a suggestion to a guy that you're paying $100 per hour to is like pooping a pineapple, it's really gonna hurt.

One of them there high Performance water pumps that works like a fan clutch. As the engine warms up it senses the temp and pumps the water. They just forgot to put the sensor on yours.  :good   :D

I hope that is it. I went home yesterday and put the hose to it and seemed to work find. Except for my temp guage on the boat reads 180. I have a 140 thermostat in it. So I put a temp sensor in the hose that goes from the water knuckle to the pump and ran it. It seemed to be working properly. It would get up about 140 and the themostat would open and you could see the temp drop on both gauges, but the gauge on the boat would climb and hold steady at 180. :stupid  So I'm going to go buy a new sending unit and see what happens. I guess my temp guage is off about 40 degrees. :stupid  :eek

So I took the boat out on Saturday. I'm actually pretty happy. :good  :jumpie The boat ran good no overheating issues. The temp stayed at about 180. When I was running it pretty hard it got up to about 195. I was told that is standard operating temp. So I think I might have finally fixt my problem. :good I have a stupid question. :stupid How does the speedometer work on a boat? When I replaced all of the guages I ran a new speedometer tube. I noticed when I running I'm getting water leak up at the gauge. :eek  Do I need to just zip tie that so no water can leak or is there something wrong with it? :stupid

The sensor is in the hose that goes from the water knuckle to the recirculating pump. So maybe about 6 inches.

Ok, just wondered if it was a long ways apart you could get a different reading, but that close wouldn't have made a difference!. :good

Everyone of those I seen just had a chinsy rubber or plastic tube that slipped on behind the gauge, the end might be dried out and loose or starting to split, might cut a half inch off and slip it back on so it's tight, seen this before no big deal if that's the case!..  :stupid
