Well don't worry about it, it's not going to destroy itself over it, LOL!...
No need to wrap the whole thing unless you have a bad spots that need to be ground out, just cut your dowels a tad short then fill the rest with cloth and resin then sand it smoothe, BTW, drill the holes out to the next size to clean them out so you get a good bond when you epoxy them in!...
On the bottom, take a straight edge along the bottom and make sure there are no hooks or rockers, or one big sag from the front of the motor to the transom, need to check it all the way across every few inches, any discression will make a difference in handling, and it won't be for the best, now is the time to fix it if need it will save a bunch down the road!....

Cool, I need to do the same with the one I picked up it's kinda ugly back there!.... All you need is some 3/8 angle and that will stiffen it up!..

I think i ran into a problem with the front seats I took them from my other boat and i am trying to figure out how to mount them to the stringers and gunwal
And when i sit in them i feel like im to high and its not comfy..
Sould i just get some fiberglass drag boat seats That would keep me low in the boat so i dont feel like im gonna fall out sitting on the trailer
Im only going with the two front seats so if someone has any pics of stringer mouted seats PLEASE share I need some ideas...........
Thanks..

I knew you would come through for me, now where do i find that set up? and a good place to get fiberglass seats
I think the one's out of the Omega would be way to heavy for that set up, the fronts are heavy...
Thanks, 2sav

I agree with GFR, before you get going on the interior you should do the bottom. It'll be easy right now with the boat taken apart. Just my $0.02 worth.
Just livin' the dream in Lake Havasu....... www.vistadellago.info

That's just some 4x4x1/4 angle, just go to your local metal house and rummage thru the rem pile and find a chunk and just make some brackets!... What type of seats are you looking for???..

I am replacing all the seals/gaskets, painting the bowl a nice white and adding a droop, cutting the ride plate and adding the turn fin(rudder) It looked like shit and REALLY bugged me.......I am also changing the transom adapter with one that has only the steering hole through it, and going with a manual diverter, no more hydraulic.

Quote (GoFastRacer @ Mar. 04 2008,6:18 am) | Wow that was quite a setup, can't imagine that boat handling too well with that, LOL. Might want to check into powdercoating though, that or you really gotta prep it good and use the best paint, or else it could end up like this POS!.. |
Yeah he said to not change it , its dialed in..... Im running a engine that has half the hp than what he had in it. It wont be set up as far as im concerned...... I was thinking PC myself but maybe for this summer a quick coat of Dupli color
And next off season finish it up right....Summers coming to quick
This boat should be faster now that i took off about ten pounds of silicon just from the pump, Not to mention the rest of the boat.
Thanks. 2sav
