Thanks CE.  The 5.7 already has the wakeboard tower on it, it's unavailable in the 5.0 (these are 2008 models and they aren't replacing inventory so as to make room for the 09s).  It's also red and white, which he isn't wild about but I think it looks pretty nice from the pics I've found.  Wakeboard towers seem to be the big thing in GA, most of the boats he's seen out on the lake have them.  I think he's worried that 300hp might be more than he needs...but at this point we may be splitting hairs.

That's kinda what I was thinking...but as I said, I'm a little out of my realm here.

I've got the 6.2 and it will tow anything. He'll get real good "mileage" too.

He's really worried about the gas usage between the two, especially if the price continues to climb.

What's it like to install an after market wakeboard tower?  PITA? Not cost effective? Not worth it?  He'd like to learn how to wakeboard (as would I), would a tower make it easier since we're not teenagers anymore?

With the bigger engine and the tower, it jacks the price of that boat up quite a bit.  If it burns through a lot more gas we might be looking at the cost far exceeding the value added. :stupid

I Don't Think You Would See Much Diff., If Any, In Fuel Usage Between The Two. As I Understand It, The Tower Is The Only Way To Go When Wake Boarding. Installing One Should Be Left To Someone Who Knows What They Are Doing. (Someone Who Has Done It A Few Times).
