Quote (Scuba Steve @ Feb. 16 2004,6:11 pm) | Wifey, you cant be passing out on your man like that if there is a stripper around. j/k   |
He can take a lap dance...not a problem as long as he ends up with me or "rosie" at the end of the night!
Miller has had many years of experience...he should know when the window of opportunity is open and if he doesn't take his chance while he can...well then that's his problem. I don't really have control over the pass out moment

FYI ~ There are technically 'camp sites' at North Shore, BUT it is important that you all know...they are NO WHERE near the water...We won't be camping at the offical 'camp sites'...so we do not suggest you get one of those...we will be going up Friday morning and attempting to save a LARGE section of water front area for those of you that RSVP and are on Doug's VIP list...we will be in the area that uses tents, back of cars, campers, RVs, etc...MUCH EASIER trust us!

Quote (ICETOM420 @ June 21 2004,1:08 pm) | Is there BBQ pits and picnic tables there or do we need to bring these along? Miller I found the old ski rope and a good learning ski so I will drag em along and we shall see you ski.. |
Very Cool...it would be the best b-day gift ever...maybe we should have a contest, "who can get Miller up" Â
oops...that sounds a little pervy...and of course I'd be the winner of that contest Â
As for BBQ's and Tables, YES...bring'm...we are literally going to get a plot of land on the water...the rest is up to us. BBQ's, tables, e-z ups, etc...bring what you've got and it will be plenty...if we all bring what we've got, I'm sure we will all be covered.
IMPORTANT: rememeber to bring clothing for a chilly night, sometimes it's 110 degrees in the day, but at night can drop down to 50 degrees...so bring clothes for both temps...I typically live in my swimsuit all day and at night slap on some sweats

I wanted to give you guys a picture, so you can see what it's like...literally just a plot of land on the water...we are aiming to get a big stretch of this and what you bring will be what we have.
Our goal is to get up there EARLY Friday AM and get what we can...if you are one of the few I PMed about Thursday night please let me know if you're coming, so I know how much help I'll have in 'saving' grounds Friday AM

Here is another one, in the background you can see the camping scene. (no reservations required, just RSVP to Doug with your information, so he can add you to the VIP list)

Where there's a will there's a way...apparently you don't really want to join the fun or you would

Quote (BigBoyToys @ June 22 2004,8:59 pm) | Mrs BBT and I have decided that we will throw a mattress in the back of the truck and sleep in the truck on the beach.  If we bring any kids with us they can sleep in the tent along with our other stuff that we will be storing in it (Truck has to be empty in the back.....I roll around alot when sleeping  )
We are actually starting to get excited about meeting in person so many folks that we have met on the HD forums. Â Personally, I can't wait until July 23rd |
Miller and I used to sleep in sleeping bags in the back of his truck all the time before we got a camper...it's great to see all the stars that come out at night. Bring warm jammies and something warm to hang out in at night...gets chilly at night (hot during the day though) To give you an idea...when we camped in the truck I would sleep in my sleeping bag (crappy one from wally world) and full sweat pants outfit...sometimes an extra blanket on top...if you have an air mattress...make sure to put a blanket under you, between your body and the airmatress...makes a world of difference in your warmth! Camping in the truck is a great way to go ...it's safe up there, so no worries about your 'stuff' either...a lot of people just leave their coolers, etc along side their trucks...I doubt anyone will mess with your goodies...if so, they'll have a sh*tload oh boater folks on their back!

Quote (BigBoyToys @ June 22 2004,9:03 pm) | Question; Â Can you launch from the beach, or do you have to use the launch ramp? |
Let's just say: we've launched from the beach before, and it's possible, but we have also seen PLENTY of folks stuck on the beach, so we typically take it to the ramp now It really depends on how big your boat is and how wet the ground is (some of the area is rocky, some sandy, and other areas just thick mud)

I'd be willing to bet that I don't get stuck, since I have an 18' boat and all  But just in case, I ALWAYS carry a tow chain with me. We may also end up bringing 2 vehicles down (Both 4X4) depending on how many of our kids go and a few other things. We'll know more as the date draws closer.

Quote (BigBoyToys @ June 22 2004,9:13 pm) | So you're saying that I have to take the shell off of the back of my truck?   We won't be cold, having lived in Salinas for a spell,  I'm very familiar with the area and the coastal breezes that can move in.  I'm not very worried about anyone messing with anything.  I have ways of protecting what's mine   |
Oh well if you've got a shell...by all means KEEP IT ON
Some folks aren't too familiar with the ways it can be HOT during the day and COLD at night (or for some reason don't believe me when I say bring warm clothes for the nights)...I try to make sure peeps know this, because if they think it's like the river they are gravely mistaken and typically freeze the arse off at night
You'll be set with a shell...Miller and I didn't have that luxary in our 'truck days' we would wake up with morning dew all over our sleeping bags And believe it or not, jump in the water to warm up

yeah our is 19' and we personally haven't had problems before, but when we saw some dork with a jet ski get stuck we thought:
A) what a jacka$$ (as we were LMAO)
and
B) maybe we should hit the ramp this time...(you know how murphy's law works) hee, hee...
