hmmm... a local trip vs a road trip for my first Cali boat trip.

gotta sort out the lady friends to get the propper fit for a weekend...

heck, i dont even know if my batts are still alive, under an electric deck/pad.... thats always fun to have to take the switch panel off to hook jumpers on the back, just to "get it up" so you can charge em up.

Buena Vista Aquatic Recreation Area is a little over 1 hour up the 5 from you. Just take hwy 5 north to the 119 (Taft hwy) turn left (west) off the 5 and go to the first big intersection (with the Shell station). Turn left at that light and the road will take you a couple of miles, right into the entrance. Our campsite is right across a cove from the main launch ramp. :beer

Yes you can leave it in the water overnight, we always do. I'm not sure if you are supposed to sleep in it on the water, but I doubt anyone would notice, if all you did was sleep in it, while it was beached or anchored off a campsite. It's not like the ranger would wade out and shine a light in your cabin to check on you during the night. As for sleeping in it on the trailer, I'm sure that is fine as long as it is leagaly parked in a campsite.
