Now that is A friend of mine has a 65 short bed that he bought brand new and it just sits in his back yard and it's all original and it's cherry, hasn't ran in 20 years and he won't sell it!. I keep telling him that it would have a good home if he sold it to me, he keeps telling me "maybe one of these days", focker!..

It's a 1968 Chevy Shortbed Step side. I'm the third owner of the truck. It was originally purchased in July 1967 by the United States Inneragency Motorpool. I'm not sure when the second owner bought it. It was originally a 292 6 cyl., granny 4 speed, 4:11 posi. It's biggest option was the cigarette lighter!! When we purchased it, in Dec. 1978, someone had already changed the engine to a 283 V-8. When we picked it up,there was so much damage, we had to tie the passenger door closed!! This was my first vehicle!! Since i've owned it, all of the body has been replaced!! The only original parts left of on truck are the frame and radiator support. It is now powered by a 355 small block with a TH 350. I've added A/C,P/S, P/B,C/C and changed the rear end to a 3:73. Â The truck was lowered before anybody offered lowering kits!! It was lowerred by cutting the front springs and heating the rears. I had custom short shocks made for the front and used front shocks on the rear. The stops were removed to allow suspension travel. the wheels are 15X8.5 Western Wheels, I think they were called Hurricanes. They have 275X60X15 tires on all 4 corners. The bed has Oak wood with Chrome slats and polished S.S. bolts.
The next thing it gets is the engine rebuilt, or at least changed out.
Next, it gets front disk brakes and complete rework of the body and repaint!!
I think I covered it all!! Oh, One more thing............
IT'S NOT FOR SALE!! Â

Yeah, if it ever snowed.
There have been times when I've pushed snow with the grill of my '85 3/4 ton GMC, and that was just getting out of the driveway.

I wish. Â They stopped paying for mine when they got me a new one. Â Cheap bastages... Â
As far as the Harley, I'm kinda up in the air on that after I started looking at insurance. Â From what I've found it runs 2 to 3 times what insurance is on my truck. Â By the time I do a payment and insurance I may as well just buy a new 26' boat and be done with it for the same money. Â |
insurance can be the killer.BTW i pay 35 dollars a month for my Gsxr 750 streetbike and 51 dollars for the new 04chevy 2500hd 4x4.Not bad IMO  state farm ins. They also do my wifes jetta, toybox, and our boat Gues older age is better  31 years old and 1 point on driving record. If you buy a 26 ftr cant you park it at rds? |
$51.00 month for your truck. Thats just liability right?
Everyone is welcome.... No one is safe.
