I blew a head gasket while pulling up to work and I live 25 miles away.  I decided just to replace them there.  I had the motor torn down to the block and was drawing a little attention in this cookie cutter community.  Some firemen saw what I was doing and were going to tell me they didn't want to see that in their neighborhood.  When they recognized me as a manager there, they backed off.  That was my Toyota (parts runner) truck next to it recharging the battery.  Some photographer from the L.A. Times saw me and my girlfriend and thought it was cute.  She thought the Toyota belonged to my girlfriend and thought the trucks "jumped" together symbolize something.  She took about 10 pics.  I knew once the paper came out, the Sheriffs dept. or code enforcement would cite me, so I got it out of there that night.  The firemen laughed their asses off when they saw it in the paper the next day.

Fixing trucks in the field ALWAYS makes for a good story.  Here's another with the same truck.  I blew a U-Joint at my rear differential 1/3 of the way of a 25 mile trip to work.  I unbolted the driveshaft from the front U-Joint and continued to work using my front drive shaft and locked hubs.  I made it to work on time. The drive shaft spline came out of the transfer case somewhere along the way. 10 hours later, in the middle of the night, the same "Jennifer" drove me back 16 miles to find the spline still in the middle of the lane!  :rotflmao

And to answer your question, Jennifer left me over a year ago. I wonder why? :confused  :rotflmao

I'm as single as one can get.  I even drive to the river alone. :p

I find it hard to kick a man when he's down, I mean it's bad enough to have to drive a Ford, but then to get your picture in the paper... that's even worse.  It happens so often over here, Ford's breaking down that is, that it doesn't even make the paper anymore.  I suppose it would be kind of like having a headline "The Sun Came Up in the East This Morning" in the paper every day.   :D  :laugh  :D  :rotflmao  :p

Last summer, I was at Havasu by myself for a period of time with a waterfront condo and a boat.  I don't know if there's a name for this phobia, but I thought everyone was pointing at me and saying "look, he's all by himself". :rotflmao

Hey now its a great truck!!!! I let someone else drive it and  he was messing around and a  member in my drive shaft broke or something.. I dont know much about trucks but they are rebuilding the rear end. Thank goodness for warranties :D
