I've actually thought of trying a little JB weld or the like, but I'm scared of glueing the door in place.

But since my defroster still works  :ass , I haven't messed with it. :D

Well I fixed mine :good I don't exactly know how but When I checked to see if it had a Tstat in the cooling system it did not. So I popped one in and the temp gauge started working, the heater blew hot air, and low and behold the defroster works just fine  :jumpie Even the aux cooling fan came on.  :p I'm thinking the defrost only works when the water is warm enough to do something, must pick a signal up from the ETS thru the ECM :stupid

But of course fix one thing find 2 more things to fix. The rear heater is bypassed at the engine compartment. That should be an interesting fix. Found some red and black wired connector hiding over by the evap just hanging around.

Looks like its wired for a block heater, that will come in handy this August :laugh

No coat hangers... :D  JB weld would be an absolute last resort, what I would try last before I tear apart the dash...

What really miffs me, is that the person (woman) that owned the Blazer before I bought it, took it into the dealer to have the vents looked at.  The dealer completely dissasembled the dash to get to the mixer/mode box dealio (650.00 labor, I have the receipt, yep she paid for it, with a CC, I have that receipt as well, along with the number on the CC), and then she declined to fix it, and traded the truck in on a new Denali.  So the dealer buttoned it back up and auctioned it off.

When I bought the truck, the used car salesman told me the actuator was bad... easy 20.00 part to fix... I hate used car salesman :fight  :beat  :fight .

I didn't find all the receipts until a week or so after I bought the truck.  Oh well.  :rolleyes

They make stuff to clean and polish plastic. Heres a link to a place that sells it polish but you can get it anywhere. You can use just about any fine abrassive or rubbing compound. Put a buffing wheel on your cordless drill and go to town. Or you can do it by hand with rags. We polish the light bars on the cop cars here and thats where I picked up on it. Getting your car/trucks washed at the commercial car washes is really tough on the plastic lights.

Oh yeah, use a little at a time or you'll be slinging compound all over the place. Then of course you gota clean that up :(  :laugh

Meguiars also make some plastic polish/cleaner that comes in a little white bottle.  Meguiars #17 I think??  I used it on the lenses on my Taurus and it took the oxidation right off.  Follow it up with Meguiars #10 (the blue bottle) and those lenses will shine like a new penny.   :good

So it had one of the adapter kits on it for a clean install but it was for the flat 4 pin connector, and the ground was a joke. I wanted to keep the 4 pin for any other trailer I may tow but the Blue Canoe trailer is set up with the round 6 pin. So I just T-Tapped into the harness and it was a done deal. While I was in there I took apart the old connections to clean them up and put some Dielectric grease on them. They were pretty corroded.

I've got 2 extra pins on the trailer plugged that I wired up. I'm wanting to put back-up lights on the trailer. So that will take one and I'll save the other if I ever need a feed for electric brakes.
