The rest area's been closed for several years Art, but it's still there and about once per year they use it to corral trucks for a big D.O.T. party. Â Now they just camp out at the AZ./NV. state line and run trucks down for roadside inspections on the freeway shoulder. |
Wow wonder why they closed it, it was always packed when I ran thru there!. Gotta love them DOT parties, LOL. Why are they hanging at the bottom of the hill for??, they redid the whole port of entry on top of the hill so they could hold thier DOT parties, don't make sense!..

The DOT sit at the bottom of the hill to bust the truckers that are riding there brakes, so when there at the bottom there brakes will be OUT of ajustment and they can give him another ticket, easy money, the way I see it is you don't need flaps on your trailer unless the fender is higher than 18 inches or 14, as far as your dully go's I'm not into the law, but I know the Dot laws, and if it is stock then I don't think you would not need them, unless you lift it, Because the truck came from the mang. to meet all DOT laws, Here in ohio my truck is 26 inches from the ground, but we don't need flaps, and I can go up to, 31 or 36 inches high.
