Well I got the Suburban some goodies for Xmas. Going to try out the TBI Spacer and Injector Spacer. Also picked up an OEM K&N filter for it. Going for a couple more MPG's and a little more HP. Last MPG ck on a road trip was about 11.5

Get one of the Hypertech salad bowl looking thingies... Supposed to smooth the airflow under the injectors and into the throttle body... One of the magazines did a write up on the TBI Chevys.  That was the best bang for the buck.

Do Tell :good Did you have the 7.4 with the 4L80E?

I've got to change the speed sensors on the tranny it acts a little weird at 75 mph and above :confused

Nope. Mine was the 5.7 and it probably had a 700r4.... But I put the air filter in and nothing changed, then I upgraded the computer, that helped in the HP alot and the MPG some. I don't remember the exact numbers though...

Most of the stuff I'm trying is to help the MPG number, this motor stock will pull a house with the 4:10 axle its stuck with. HP increases will just be gravy. I'm hoping to get it up to 14 mpg which is a long shot ;)

Most of the computer mods richin up the fuel mixture which in a kinda sort a way uses more gas, I'm trying the add more air to a all ready rich condition and burn a few less dinosaurs :)

My heighbor went thru all that stuff, and he didn't really gain anything till he messed with the computer, then it came to life and mileage went up, his was a 454!. I went from 10 to almost 15mpg by putting an overdrive in mine!..

Hypertech now makes an 87 octane computer tweaker... supposed to really wake up the TBI trucks.  But I don't want to kill my 18mpg I get out on the highway...  :D
