I've had both '99 7.3 ford '06 duramax. Chevy plays games with the computer, Theysay 350 hp 650 torque but they limit that to certian conditions to save the trans. also my ford would never downshift while passing, the motor won't turn the rpm's. so all you would get was instant punch to pass. The chev runs like a smallblock, the minute you get on the throttle it downshifts and pauses. but the ford did have the banks big hoss and exhaust brake, w/ intercooler. when I get parts for the chev we will see. But I think the ford ran circles around the chev.

Same route,same boat,lots of trips. outside air temp makes a big deal, anything over 100 deg. outside air eats horsepower :cool

So I have to add my two cents in. I just rented a truck from the same place that GFR did.(thanks by the way). Maybe I'm out of touch on the 3/4 ton truck. I have always had 1/2 ton trucks. But I was impressed with the power I had when hualing my boat. I was able to keep it a 70mph. No problems passing people. I told the wife I will have go buy one now. :good
