Thanks Jiffy Lube... :pissed

Got the oil changed and they talked me into the 50k recommended fuel system treatment / filter replacement last Saturday.

Friday it drove fine, then would not start that evening (starving for fuel), guage needles bouncing all over the place, etc.  It's be warm (90+) air temps as well.

Saturday morning, fired right up.  No needle bounce.  Drove it around for a little bit, then last night it did the same thing and won't fire this morning.

It might me a fuse, gonna go check them now and look for a reset button, etc.  It's parked in a public place, so I just might get it towed to the dealer and have them fix it on Monday.

Any other ideas from the mechanical guru's around here..??

Have you talked to Jiffy, probably a waste of time.

Just got back from the dealership...AAA dropped it off for me.  Found the reset and checked the fuses...nada... :(

If the fuel pump is blown, the dealer will be able to determine if it was due to faulty workmanship by the JL folks... :guns  :good

I would doubt it, unless Jiffy did something really stupid. If they did say Jiffy did it, it could potentially put them in the middle of suit that they want nothing to do with. I think they'll just fix it and take your money. Be prepared for the "you shoud've brought it here speech".

How Plugged Is The Fuel Filter, Now That They Have Broken Everything Loose.....Also, Wouldn't Doubt That the Fuel Pump Has Had Some Junk Go Through It.......Unless They Cleaned The Injectors The Right Way, Through The Fuel Rail ..... Then ????  :stupid

Start at the fuel filter even though its new.....then the fuel pump, test that with a gaugue, finally the injectors if they were "cleaned" imporperly.

Somewhere between the tank and the injectors there is probably some goop broke free during the chemical cleaning. Maybe you can return it to Jiffy Lube and just say "It didnt do this when I brought it to you.....FIX IT!"

Good luck Gary.... :good

Great news Gary! $900.00 seems a wee bit steep, but hey its under warranty and that's the good part!  :good

Remember when fuel pumps were like $25.00 at Auto Shack??

What the hell happened to American vehicles being easy and cheap to wrench on???

Kinda What I Guessed....They Should Be Changed Every 15-20K....I've Seen Fuel Pumps Die After A long Time Between Filter Changes.... Guess They Can't Take It When The Restriction Is Taken Away.... :stupid

Yup,

Just follow the components from the tank to the cylinder. God arranged them to be in increasing order of costliness for a reason!!  :good  :good

I'm sure the cleansing aggrevated it. Next time drop a bottle of Techron in the tank instead. Fuel systems should stay plenty clean unless you drive around without a cap on.
We'd almost never have a dirty fuel system unless it somehow was contaminated by outside sources.
.
I'm sure glad you got it handled Shue, that could have been a hard one to swallow.

Ain't life Grand? Treat it that way.
